Man, CP3 has had so many postseason runs derailed by injuries — both to himself or a key teammate.

If Booker is not back at 100% by that time, the Warriors will make quick work of them if they meet, IMO.
The Warriors may not get by the Grizzlies. Still a long ways to go.

This is the only healthy team they have played in the playoffs, except the bucks who they lost too. Maybe this will end the narrative that cp3 makes everything go for them. Without booker they are being outplayed by an 8 seed.

Easy to say on the heels of a loss in a series that we still have home court on. Great take.PrinceAli wrote:skones wrote:This series feels like New Orleans smells blood and Phoenix is just trying to survive. Let’s be real. They were lucky to reach the finals last year even. Didn’t face a single healthy team
"Mannnnn I’m like the guy that pissed this whole board off saying literally all year no Mikal, no Mikal in the KD trade."

The NBA is a league of attrition and long has been. There's a level of luck in every single championship run, but to consider them luckier than any of the others? I don't buy it. Everyone wants to look for asterisks in the immediate, and they fade over time.

The Suns are not the NBA illuminati's favorite, folks

Plus the grizzlies have been largely outplayed by minnesota, and should probably be down 3-1...

If Zion takes this offseason seriously and gets into game shape to start next season, the Pelicans are ging to be a scary bunch.

Herb Jones going to be a player in this league. I didn't know much about him and thought it was strange to see him get a 3rd place vote for ROY but now I kind of get it. His energy is great and he fights/battles hard AF.

Ingram making Bridges look like a can
Jjj fouls out in 30 mins a game
We already know Rudys problems
Draymond, Bam, Jimmy missed too many games
Smart now anchoring one of the defensive clinics of alltime

It’s not really a “take” but rather what actually happened last year lol. And I would say the same if they had won tonight too. The Suns don’t really look all that scary

Well if they let him go they don't create cap space (at least not more than what they'd get with MLE) and it would make them significantly worse.
They could S&T him to a team under the cap though like the Spurs for Poeltl and a guard/pick or Detroit for a couple players.
I hope they keep hiim.

This Pelicans team is not healthy. Zion has been out all year which accounts for them being an 8th seed. Also BI rolled his ankle in game 2 not too long before Booker caught the hammy strain.
The Pels had the lead before Booker went out. The Pels are competitive with the Suns even with Booker. I hope people don’t discount this Pelicans team because Booker has missed 2 games in this series.

perhaps so- but he doesn't seem as dirty as Beverley- he just hustles.
Bev didn't really earn his rep by being dirty.. it was more that he plays so aggressive and annoying that he ends up injuring people. Bruce Bowen was the same way. These guys lay it all on the line and if people get injured so be it.
Bowen might be the 2nd dirtiest guy in the history of the league (behind only Lambeer by reputation). Him constantly sticking his leg under star shooter's jumpers had nothing to do with playing hard - he was simply trying to injure guys. I wager he's the main reason that rule is in the league today.

Lakers with AD and Lebron hurt, Nuggets without Jamal, Clippers without Kawhi. I don’t recall any other team reach the finals by getting to face a team without a top player in every single round

Every team they played along the way was badly injured, with star/superstar players out. Not one series, all of them. They were a group who had never been to the playoffs. Name me the last team that went from never making the playoffs to the NBA finals.

Not to mention the Suns had the best record in the regular season by far to show they're a great team lol
