Denver Nuggets guard Monte Morris is ready to get one of his backcourt mates back in the lineup. And Morris says that Jamal Murray is ready for that too.

“He’s ready to get back out there. He’s looked good. He’s dunking and everything, (with) both legs," Murray said. "It’s a matter of time, I guess, but hopefully we can get him back.”

Nuggets coach Michael Malone echoed that statement, but with a bit of caution.

“Jamal is getting better every day. Trust me, we all want him back. I want him back. We’re a better team with Jamal Murray," Malone said. “And he wants to be back. He’s making great progress. But I can’t sit here and say that he’s going to play any of the last four games. But I also can say that he won’t.”

I would've loved to see the Nuggets with a healthy MP Jr & Murray....I genuinely believe they'd be as good as the Suns (possibly better).

Lost in his quiver of greatness is that he's a monster rebounder, he gobbles them up. Or maybe I'm just late to the party.

The Denver Nuggets have ruled Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. out for Sunday's regular season finale. Beyond that, it looks like neither player will suit up for the playoffs either.

Jamal Murray has missed the entire season after tearing his ACL on April 4, 2021. Murray has been getting closer to a return, but has yet to appear in a game for the Nuggets this season.

Porter injured his back on November 6 of this season. He then had surgery on his back in December. The original thought was that Porter would be out for the rest of the season. As he ramped up his activity following rehab, the Nuggets left the door open for a return.

Are the Warriors "exposing" Jokic, or is it just that the rest of the team is crap?

How's he doing against the PNR? Should they put him on Draymond and make him sell-out to contain penetration and live with the Draymond 3s?

It really is both.

And whoever they put him on will just be used as a screener at the 3 point line both on and off ball

Both but the Warriors are also getting away a little bit with contact on defense. Other than that his 3's aren't falling and he's getting blown-by like he's a traffic cone.
Sam Hinkie gets removed from the league for enacting a plan approved by the fanbase yet NIco Harrison and Patrick Dumont keep their job for alienating their fanbase. Make it make sense.

Lmao sixers fans so pissed he didn't get swept; and are now turning to the "MVPs don't get benched for defense" bull narrative.

For real though: Concretely speaking, if the Nuggets had better perimeter defenders, does JOkic get exploited way less (a la Gobert)?

I think Jokic is clearly a better defender than Vucevic, I would love to see him with two guards like Caruso and Lonzo at the POA.

Definitely, but he would never be elite on that end. There are two extremes regarding Jokic's defense:

1. He is a liability who gets exposed in playoffs (false).
2. He could be like Marc Gasol but has no help (als false).

Jokic is above average defender who can look legit good against certain matchups, but can also look bad against bad matchups. I'm sure Jokic would look better even against a team like Bucks or Sixers defensively than against Warriors or Suns who relies heavily on matchup hunting in P&Rs.

Gobert is a lot better at switches than Jokic, I think Jokic is great in drop coverage and isn’t a bad defender but his slow foot speed means a team like the Warriors are gonna go crazy against him

Well, it's not just that Curry is blowing by Jokic on switches. Nuggets have gotten plain lost on a lot of the screening action and their guys just don't have the motor to be chasing around Curry, Poole and Klay all over the court.

Scheme also deserves more mention. Nuggets need to do a lot more pre-switching instead of leaving Jokic on an island against Curry. They could also play more of a matchup zone. Too often they just soft switch which is just asking for trouble.
