The back issues (if they are real) will be a chronic thing. He's gotta find a way to manage the issue and get back on the court. TMac did it, so did Nash. Simmons is not the first player with back issues.

Either way, the Nets look stupid for trading Harden for this guy.

You completely missed their take. Their take was that the difference between Saturday and today was negligible, and so if he thought he'd be good to go for Monday, then he should have dressed for Saturday and gave it his best when it was 2-0 and they could have really used him when they really needed a win.

I agree with that sentiment but disagree with the whole idea of plopping him into the middle of a playoff series after he hasn't played for nearly a year. He wouldn't be in game shape. He would have no chemistry with his teammates. Communication on the court would be off.

You know he was at home and saw the tweet "Ben Simmons could be the first player to lose back to back elimination games in NBA history if the Nets lose to Boston on Monday night" and was like oh **** my back is flaring up again. If they Nets were up 2-1 right now and there wasn't a ton of pressure on game 4 he'd likely be willing to go in for a few minutes coming off the bench.

When the pressure is on though, this guy folds.

Ben Simmons already made up his mind the day before he isn't going to suit up for game 4. The Nets coddled this loser and didn't demand he try to play in the regular season so yeah expect Ben to be booed next season if he even manages to suit up for the team.
