I would have said Luka confidently earlier in the year but Tatum has really impressed me. Toss up imo

If this was asked pre playoffs it would most likely be Luka leading the polls. But right now we're seeing Tatum outdueling KD and I think some people would choose Tatum because of it.

Personally i'd choose Tatum.

Ask this last year, or even during Luka's rookie season, it would be Luka by landslide.

Prior to this series KD was widely viewed as the best player in the NBA. Tatum just abused him. Tatum is now the best player in the NBA. Lucky told me.

Um, I think the playmaking gap is smaller than the defensive gap, so I’ll go Tatum. But there’s no wrong answer here, they both look like they will be in the MVP race every season for the next however many years.

Tatum just played insane defense on KD for 150 possessions, and still averaged 30/5/7 on a 62% TS. Obviously he got plenty of help defensively, but he was the guy who did the brunt of it.

And in a series where they swept but won only by a total of 18 points or whatever, dude had a TS of 75% in the 4th quarter of the games, that’s beyond big time.

Luka. BARELY. And quite honestly, I didn’t think I’d ever say that. I thought Luka would be a tier above Tatum throughout their careers.

Last thread that was made about this you had people saying Luka is equivalent to Jokic while Tatum is equivalent to Vucevic

Give me Tatum for this season and moving forward. Can play elite defense, and has stamina to play 45+ minutes. You all had a nice close up of Tatum’s passing which has gotten a lot better so he doesn’t really have any flaws in his game at this point, can only improve in areas. I think it’s close and don’t mind anyone who says Luka but anyone who says Luka is way better as if he’s prime Jordan right now are ridiculous
