You know Ben Simmons went straight home to play video games all summer while he gets paid millions.

G R E Y wrote:I really wanted better for Patty, and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Kevin Durant for his committing to Team USA for the Olympics. It was a monumental performance by him.

Perhaps that was what he was expecting, some version of it, but again, just goes to show that great coaching and systems designed for player strengths matter. And defense first matters. Hopefully Durant's more on board about that going forward.

Kyrie post game sounded like he was committed to returning. He has to get on board, too. Focused somewhat on media and noise. He and Kevin should REALLY work on tuning all that out. Like not pay it any attention, not give it any fire tinder whatsoever. AT. ALL.

Anyway, back to the foundations for the Nets, and I hope the stars buy in.

yup. i was disappointed the way he left okc and his twitter burner account issues aside, i think KD is an alright dude. kd looks like he just wants to ball w/ his friends. he played hard and injured his achilles in GS and committed to team usa and got them a gold. not to mention last year he carried the nets as far as he can. all very commendable. hope they refocus their efforts and come back better next year.

Congrats to the Celtics. Great to see that trash team embarrassed.

Congrats to the Celtics!

I almost feel a little dirty even typing that, as an avowed hater of all Boston teams, but I was definitely pulling for you guys in this series.

And lol at Kyrie talking about how he's taking all this as motivation for this summer and next season. Too bad he didn't use his $36 million salary as motivation to actually show up for his team half the time this year, but good on him to find a silver lining from this embarrassing loss, I guess.

I was one of the fools who voted Nets in 7. Despite all the analytics pointing clearly towards the Celtics, part of me just ignored them and assumed that Kyrie and KD would "figure it out." The lesson: The numbers, usually, don't lie... and also KD isn't LeBron in his prime.

A lot of this is on the personnel. BK has zero wing defenders on this team outside of KD and Simmons and only one of them played. It's inexplicable to shoot this well offensively the entire series and get swept.

Definitely the most humiliating sports loss of my life.

I think it would be fine to lose to the Celtics in 6 or 7. They are clearly the best team in the NBA right now in my view.

And we had a ton to overcome this season.

But getting swept with KD and Kyrie is just unacceptable.

If KD/Kyrie played well and the defense/coaching was bad I could live with it.

Instead KD/Kyrie got locked up. And choked in the clutch in nearly every game.

Every single game was winnable if KD/Kyrie made shots when it mattered.

Tatum clearly outplayed KD every game this series which is just unacceptable.

I know Celtics fans claimed they warned us about Kyrie. Whatever. We knew what we were getting.

The point was KD was supposed to be a top 3 player.

But he wasn't when it mattered most. Thats the part that shocked me so much.

Either way enjoy the series win. I know I enjoyed it a ton last year so no hard feelings.

I do think its possible the Nets can be back in contention with a new coach and Simmons/Harris back, but not banking on it.

Will not be rooting for the Celtics. But I think they are probably going to the Finals.

You got your wish...

Whatever.

There was a time where the we didn't have fans passionate or ballsy enough to chant anything.

Glad we have people who care now.

Not like the NJ days.

Boston fans also chanted the same thing last year btw. Only to lose in 5.

If anything, I'm hoping this series, and the Sun's rise shows NBA players one thing: basketball is a team sport. The Celtics have two stars, and a bunch of valuable role players that excel at their particular responsibilities. All 8 rotation players can and will defend. Perhaps the best path to greatness isn't leaving, it's staying until your team can find the pieces around you (see Jordan). Lebron never truly needed a wade, Durant and Kyrie didn't need a Harden, they needed great coaching, a team identity, and supplemental players to highlight their immense talents.

LOL! live your best life man..

Gotta find some enjoyment out of being a Knicks fan.

F*ck the New Jersey Nets.  Their bandwagon fans always wanna be talking smack, Knicks fans try to warn them time and time again.. the Pierce/KG trade, then the Harden trade, now the Simmons trade.. consistently throwing away all their future and picks for first round exits and embarrassment.

KD and Kyrie are so soft, don't be surprised if they dip/demand a trade out asap.

Knicks fans have no right to talk when you couldnt even make the play in after being a 4 seed last year

FOH.

The only solace I have after losing this series is that I don't root for the sorry Knicks.

Enjoy paying Julius Randle 100 million dollars and missing the play in again next year.

That's basically his playoff numbers without a superstar at his side.

Does anyone have the updated stats on KD's tie or take the lead career clutch shot attempts?

I think it was like 4/29 before this series. This is worse than Claxton's FT%.
He hit one against the Bucks last season and they were breaking our balls about his shoe size for 1 year in a row.

You all think the Bucks put Jrue on Tatum, or Brown because of the height difference?

Also curious to see how much Jrue can give them when he has his doppelganger hounding him all over the court (Smart).

For what it's worth, I respect you as an outspoken Brooklyn fan giving honest summations through what honestly nobody, not even the greenest Boston fan was possible. Sometimes I wish the Prok's of the world could be like you but then I guess that wouldn't make RGM what it is.

With everything said about Brooklyn, I was personally terrified... This was a Duke vs UNC matchup four times over. The matchup to avoid and everything else, glad it ended well but I can say that I was on my feet for all 192 minutes of that. My dogs are stressed out, wife is asking questions and all that. A completely historic 2-7 for the ages, I'm a little worried that the C's will let off the throttle after that hurdle. May have been a sweep but certainly didn't feel like one.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
This.
He has been in here taking the smoke all series and giving it straight while prok sits in the Nets board making claims that all of Boston is racist, if you like the Celtics you are automatically racist, calling people names ect.

This sweep’s for you Prok. I know you predicted it because Nash & Marks and all that. Meanwhile your starboy Kyrie went 35% from the field the last 3 games. Talk about melting?

Nets have nothing to be ashamed about. This is the second year in a row they lost to the eventual champs.

Celtics defense is real.
