People seem to make up stories about Kawhi. I doubt this is true. Highly unlikely the Clippers are pressuring him knowing the situation and past history of Kawhi and his health.

Does not take this long to make it back from an ACL tear.

Will never forget that he did that to this team.

Selling out n going 42-40 and losing to GSW in the playoffs earned us this?
Yuck.

We knew about Kawhi going in. The one semi-saving grace is that he isn't a guy who misses 30-40 games a season. He plays most of the games in 3 or 4 seasons--then misses the fourth entirely or almost entirely. Since 2014, in his 7 "healthy" seasons, he's played in 80% of the team's games. In the two un healthy seasons he's played in 5"%. We're thinking / hoping / wishing / paying for one of the trifectas where he plays 210 games in three seasons and is healthy for the postseasons.

Jamal Murray's ACL tear happened a couple months before Kawhi's and he's still not back yet either.

Dinwiddie is the only guy in recent memory who was ready to go under 9 months.

Murray is like a week away from taking a full year. He’s still not expected to play this year.

Thomas Bryant took just over a full year to return.

Why is a different standard being held for Leonard?

Not gonna pretend to know everything on ACLs. Maybe this has become a 12 month injury. I feel like there are players in the past who came back in 9 and the only injuries that are true 12 monthers are achilles and TJS in baseball. If that is wrong or if the league has trended towards it being a 12 month injury, then whatever. I will acquiesce.

Nonetheless, I'm going to be skeptical until the doubt is removed from my mind.
I also never understood why this guy needed to wait an entire month to get surgery either.

He's not 25 anymore (like Jamal Murray) where we can say there's 7-8 more elite years we may get out of him. Our window with him is small and it continues to shrink.

They wanted us to believe he could play in March/April/Playoffs at different times in the season but today Lawrence Frank won’t comment on whether Leonard will be ready for opening night?

Frank said that?

Why wouldn't he be back by opening night? Has he suffered any setbacks?

I just read excerpts from the interview- he probably didn't want to say anything yet- just in case he does suffer a setback or because Kawhi likes to keep it private

He could have said something generic like we hope/anticipate everyone being healthy and full participants in training camp.

It doesn’t give away anything about where Leonard is in his recovery. It doesn’t violate his privacy or break any HIPPA laws. It doesn’t mislead fans either.

I can hear Lue all ready saying how he didn’t see it on day one of training camp despite pics of Leonard’s participation.

it wasn't that long that this was a career ender. Not all ACL tears are the same. We don't know if he had micro tears or a full rupture. Maybe they took the PG route and waited a month to see if the ligament would start healing with rest.

I fully expected Kawhi to be back during the playoffs, but his teammates didn't finish the job. Kawhi wouldn't come back to be 70% of himself. Kawhi is going to make sure he can impact the game on both ends of the court before he steps on the court. Now, he gets more time.

I think he would have made it back at woe point if we had a real shot at the Larry. He was certainly trying. Not if we were down 3-0 to the Grizz but for a Game 7.

T-Mann needs to hook up here. Bulk up. Something. A team-worst [by far] minus-13 in the two play-in games. Next worst was Powell at minus-2.5 and Reggie at minus-2.0. Not even close.

Look at Kawhi's quads in that one photo. This guy was ready for the playoffs. His team failed to show up in the play-in.

Leonard looks great. Can we fast forward to the season please?

Not sure why it says the pic might contain sensitive material? It’s a pic of Leonard, Clint Parks, and Franklin in the gym.
