I get that we missed some key pieces in OKC to win a championship (and got bad luck with injuries) but if KD played in the playoffs at the same level as RS, we probably would have won a title.

He played his tail off in his first NBA Finals appearance in 2012 so the Bucks series last year wasn't the only exception. That Heat team was just too battle tested and LBJ was on a mission to right the wrong of the 2011 Finals. LBJ had a historic season in 2012 and was the only player on the planet better than Durant.

I enjoy Inside the NBA as much as anyone, but I'm kinda tired of them going after players and feeding all this playground drama. Even if KD's ego deserves a little bruising every now and then. This bus driver bull is no different from all the alpha nonsense.

Lebron joined a 47 win team with Chris Bosh and Wade who already had bad knees.

Wade was already turning 30 and won a ring in 2006.

Durant joined a 73 win team with 4 other all stars in their prime that won a ring 2 years before and ALSO beat OKC 2 months before Durant joined them.

You literally can't compare them. That's just blasphemy.
Durant went over the top, but LeBron was not too far

The best thing about this whole thing is how salty Kenny has gotten. Guy was in his feelings still and recently tried to push Barkley to walk it all back.

So Lebron had the same intent but is not a very good GM.

KD has never truly led a team to a championship, even if he technically was the best player. Would the Warriors have won in both '17 or '18 without KD? No one knows of course-if you put a gun to my head I say they split with Cleveland-but there was just such little pressure on KD to perform considering the wealth of talent on that team. That's the point that Chuck made and you can't really argue with it.

Durant just can't win this feud either; One, Barkley is right. Two, any comparison he tries to make between himself and Barkley makes himself look bad since he's the vastly superior player (kind of helping make the point). Three, Chuck is the first to acknowledge his own shortcomings. Any shot Durant takes winds up in "ok, now what" territory while every shot Barkley takes is gold.

Yeah, LeBron is what made the Heat contenders and they clearly needed him to be a superstar to win.

Warriors would've been contenders with Keith Bogans at SF lol

BS, they added Bosh and Allen and they had lots of good pieces , even without Lebron they would have been contenders for the title .

That's 100% wrong. It's not even worth debating. Might wanna catch up on your early 2010s basketball history

Not saying I agree with Chuck though, I think I'd ask Chuck if he thinks Kawhi was the bus driver on the Raptors.

Kawhi is a good comparison. Both his rings were with teams that had good team leadership structure already in place. Spurs had Popavich and led by Duncan before he got there. Raptors had Nurse and led by Lowry before he got there. Freed from leadership duties, Kawhi was able to concentrate on what he does best: be the #1 option and take over a game when needed. He hasn't succeeded with the Clippers because they need him to be the leader as well, which he is not.

Same for Durant. His rings were with GSW that already had good leadership in place with Curry, leaving Durant to do what he does best: be the #1 option and take over a game when needed. Like Kawhi, he will excel as long as he's not needed to be the leader.

Wade and Bosh with whatever else they could add with LeBron's cap space wouldn't be contenders?

He didn't say favorites.

The disconnect between current/future players and current media or ex-players in media is only going to grow wider as time goes on. Modern players have stated they're not going to put up with media comments or criticism just cause "its part of the job" especially when more than ever they can rally people behind them cause of social media. Also you can see the massive disconnect between players of different eras and the whole idea that there's a "club" that great pro athletes are in or bond they have is obviously not true.
