At the moment of the extension some people were saying that James Jones overpaid for a 3&D guy...no way.

James Jones signs team friendly deals. Either getting people to take less than market value. Or he keeps team control by limiting guarantees in later years.

Obviously Ayton wasn't going to do either which is why he wasn't extended. It will be interesting to see what happens when it's Booker's time.

To me it depends on how smart Booker is. Does he want the money for himself, or does he want a solid team around him, which will cost money.

Yeah, a super max will cost about $55 million a year based on cap projections.

I think Bridges is very well respected by his peers as is Booker, Paul and Ayton. Just look at all star player votes. Ayton came in ahead of Towns, George (I think), etc. I think he was 6th in all frontcourt players in the west. The players definitely respect him more than media. They probably have a tough time stopping Ayton's shots and sometimes getting shots off when he guards them, especially some wings/guards when he can stay in front of them and they need to pass back out.

Mikal was fired up for game one! I think that this was the first time I have ever seen him get a technical foul!?!?

I think most of guys are tired of getting called for fouls that the refs let go when we are on offense.

He only got the T because he slapped the ball away in frustration after getting called for a foul on a clean block. Unfortunately the ball bounced into the official who made the call.

They didn't actually T him straight away but it seemed like a delayed T after the refs discussed it and decided by the rules it probably should be a T even though Mikal obvs didn't mean to hit it into the ref.

I love you Mikal. Incredible we locked him in when we did. Has the perfect skillset for today's NBA and is so reliable

His contract is looking one of the best in the entire league. Went pretty quickly from FAIR to STEAL and now BARGAIN.

Mikal Bridges tonight:

31 points on 17 shots

Defended CJ McCollum for 36 plays, held him to 10 points on 3/11 shooting

Defended Brandon Ingram for 34 plays, held him to 7 points on 2/5 plus 3 turnovers

All that in 46:54 of playing time

Extraordinary performance for the Suns.

If Philly didn't trade him they very likely would be favourites to win it all right now.

How funny would have been to watch Mikal Bridges and Shawn Marion together on the same Suns team. Wow.
