Alright Doc, now let's look at the circumstance that allowed you to win a title, and subtract some of that credit that I'm giving you for the Orlando series.

Doc is just a loser lol. He rode KG’s talent & leadership to 1 title and has been dining on that for 20 years. Since then, he’s coached massively talented team after massively talented team and underperformed every time.

I think if he somehow finds a way to win one of these next two games he's back. I'm frankly rooting for us to lose this series because you can't possibly bring him back after that. D'Antoni obviously will be the next coach as ownership loves him from when he was brought in as HCIW for when Collars **** Brown (oops) and Morey likewise has an affinity for.

What is The Indy coaches deal at (Rick Carlisle?) dude coaches Dirk to a chip, I really think that’s the model we need to run with Embiid at the 4 with a rebounder/dunker next to him. I think Reed or Bassey could even be that guy with a full training camp to work on it together.

That’s my thinking as well. I want Sixers to win, but I don’t believe we can title this year with Glenn, with Maxey being as young as he is, and with Embiids bad thump.
That’s what we are facing:
A. Win this series, lose later in playoffs. In that case we keep Glenn for at least one year. Next year lose again, fire Glenn.
B. Lose this series, fire Glenn now.

I’m not sure MDA is much better than Glenn, though.

Been saying this. But people still can’t recover from their trauma with Al Horford.
Again, its not because of Horford. It’s because of Josh Richardson and Ben Simmons, the worst shooting backcourt of all time.
You replace that backcourt with Maxey and Harden. Then you also factor Tobi and Embiid’s improve shooting.
People forget that part of the difficulty to defend Harden’s drive was because of a lob threat like Capela where opponent’s rim protector is at a bad position on defense. And without a lob threat, he played a 4 out offense with the center at the 3pt arc (tucker)
Now, whenever Harden drives, Embiid’s man (achiuwa) or corner shooter (siakam) just collapsed on Harden. How can his shot not be blocked repeatedly?
Harden was no Giannis or LeBron just driving and dunking over guys

If you want to replace doc..
1.) Carlisle, one of my fave coaches
2.) Pop, he may want to get out of there
3.) Some disciplinarian that scare straight our guys when they play without energy

Someone gets this. I think you can add Dantoni as a solid coach that could do better as well. He had the Nets humming last year until the injuries happened and left Durant on his own. Dantoni also nearly toppled the greatest team assembled. Doc is not using the pieces he has with Bassey and Reed because he doesn’t know the strengths of the individuals and how to maximize them in offensive sets collectively.

Good post
Look no further than the Celtics this year.

This looks like us when we have Danny Green or Harden defending a cutting Chris Boucher or OG of Achiuwa
You need another big. The size upgrade you did from upgrading Seth to Harden didn’t solve your size issue.

I think if he wins this series, but loses in the next round, he is gone as well. Hopefully. He does have that 5 year contract, but two years of subpar playoff performances while coaching a team that wants to be a contender will get him fired. The most tragic thing to do would be to keep him, improve the team next year, get the first seed and lose early in the playoffs again. :/

I highly doubt that. Glenn’s out only if we lose series in a historic ugly fashion.
Overwise he stays. And if we lose next year early again, then yeah, Doc’s gone.
The bad thing about it, the next coach that comes summer 2023 and starts during training camp, Harden will be 34, if still here.

My positive thinking keeps sending me signals of how bad Doc was in the first round of 2008 Celtics Hawks series, but won in game 7, and then won the title.

Except for when he had an insanely good Celtics roster he never gets the best out of his players when it matters most. D'antoni, Vogel, or Quinn Snyder, to name just a few, would be an upgrade. Even on the current staff I would rather give Sam or Dave Joerger a shot.
Either promote Cassell, or go after Quin Snyder. JMO.
Snyder??
Check his play off record last 5 seasons and blown opportunities..his bad adjustment trying to contain Luka with Bogdanovic on him..took all offensive energy from Boggie and he scored like 2pts or something in game 5 after averaging like 25ppg in first three games of the series..you tell me you take 20ppg from your team with hope Luka will score 25-30less with Bogdanovic guarding him?? common..Better get Voegel..Carlisle..than Snyder..

I was hoping for the loser of the Wright-Self contest. (I mean I would have taken the winner, but the loser would be more likely.)
