I'll wait to see what they look like against the Suns before I say they're "so good".

Competing with a Jazz team that's just waiting to be put out of it's misery won't do it for me.

Wel it's not Luka and a bunch of scrubs. They have a lot of really good role players. Jalen Brunson is a stud also.

Elite defense, bunch of shooters.

This team gave the Clippers with Kawhi all they could handle the last two times they faced. Let that sink in.

Mavs' role players aren't big names but they are absolutely good fits around him. It's like the Harden rockets expect they actually play defense

I wouldn’t say we are so good. We make due with what we have have. The emergence of Brunson has been huge. The drop off is sickening after that. Most of our starters would be bench players on other contending teams.

No complaints here yet. Luka, Brunson and solid role players who know their role is very underestimated at this point. I do know once They get better or Luka is surrounded some better ball players championships are coming. It’s just a matter is the FO can execute.

They shouldn't be.

They lack height. No power inside.

But they have great confidence in themselves, fight quite hard in defense and every game they have A LOT of open shoots.

If they hit the 3 pointers at good rate, they are a headache for any team.

Moreyball = a player that demands a double surrounded by guys who can hit threes. Spam the same play over and over and over and if the wide open threes go in, you win. If they don’t, you lose. That team can compete with anyone but has yet to win a title.

Team defense + Luka
It's like Harden's Rockets, AI's Sixers, Lebron's first-stint Cavs, etc.
Dirk had some of these teams, too (outside of Jet the 2011 title team was basically this), and Duncan won a title with it in 2003 (though Duncan was both the guy and the main reason for the elite defense).
This is a successful team archetype that we've seen before.

They held Utah to 98ppg average in the series, and Luka isn't the defensive engine.

Finney-Smith and Bullock are the defensive nucleus. Everybody in their rotation except Powell can hit threes. Luka is exceptional at creating open three point attempts. Brunson is an excellent secondary attack guy.

Luka is great, but all these guys play an important role.

To be clear: good enough for 2nd round. See how we go.

And also to be clear: 2nd round is already a massive achievement for a team where the most expensive player is Tim fkn Hardaway, and he's not even playing

They obviously have something really good going on, and it obviously goes beyond just Luka. Very exciting team.

(no offense to Tim Hardaway, I will always have fond memories from when Giannis jumped over him)

Well yeah, you’re definitely missing something if you truly believe this Mavs roster around Luka is just a bunch of scrubs. Just because they don’t have a perennial all-star 2nd option next to Luka doesn’t mean they don’t have talent.

You know it's a troll thread when you see " luca"...

The team has obviously some good NBA players.

Yep. At the start of the season, the top players were supposed to be Luka/Kristaps/THJ aka The Council. Who would have thought that it would be Luka/Brunson/Dinwiddie when the playoffs rolled around?

Man, I'm just happy to finally win a series after a very long time.
