Aging draft. Each pick must be older than the one before (in the chosen season).

Honestly it'll be a while before I want to play these again.

I'm not sure why but the burnout hit me suddenly, and hard. I didn't even finish the last game I was in.

No MVP big men draft, or no MVP perimeter players draft.
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

That would be interesting.

What of players that only ever played for a single franchise? Kobe for example. Is he eligible? I would say yes, but a stipulation that a player must have played for at least 2 would make for a problematic draft.

What about a draft where no 2 players could have EVER played together.
Including All star games.

Would have to really comb different era's of basketball to complete a team. And if you pick someone like Lebron who has played with every good NBA player in the last nearly 20 years, you have to pay for it by being heavily restricted on the other team members.

Or maybe that is too much, perhaps just the top pick, or top 2 picks can have never played with anyone else on the team. The other players can have played on the same team, or allstar team.

Young franchises draft. Only seasons from the top 8 youngest franchises are valid:

Charlotte Hornets (1988)
Dallas Mavericks (1980)
Memphis Grizzlies (1995)
Miami Heat (1988)
Minnesota Timberwolves (1989)
New Orleans Pelicans (2002)
Orlando Magic (1989)
Toronto Raptors (1995)

Might wanna expand that to top 11 youngest, and add Spurs, Nuggets, Pacers

I don't think exceptions need to be made. Just like we didn't make an exception for 1st franchise when a player only played for 1 franchise.

Are with ok with the fact that every 22' season is eligible?

I think it's more interesting without 2022 players eligible. Not sure how it leaves us depth-wise, though.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

One allstar from each decade, 1970 onwards.

Might be little too easy as most people aren't going to have 6 all stars per team. Maybe 90s on.

East team must pick one allstar per decade, 1970s onwards.

Feel like FGAs would need to go up for that to happen

A kind of weird idea for which I can't even come up with a title: only players who have averaged fewer than 10 ppg in a season are eligible.

Rules out MJ, Magic, Chuck, Malone, LeBron, KD, CP3, Wade, and a bunch of current superstars. A handful of All-NBA guys too like Reggie and Klay. Maybe works better with a smaller group of players (10-12)?

Middle aged franchises - not the ones going back to the 40s, but not the new ones either

Brooklyn, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Houston, Indiana, Clippers, Milwaukee, Seattle/OKC, Phoenix, Portland, San Antonio, Utah

Might be a different pool

No nba 1st, 2nd or 3rd team selections. Only players who were not on any all nba teams in chosen season. Can be allstar or Defensive team. Post merger.

Funny that LeBron is also included there. And he'll also be included in a "old franchises draft".
