Shams: Embiid Suffered Right Orbital Fracture; OUT Indefinitely

Post#1 » by cupcakesnake » Sat Apr 30, 2022 3:53 am

*Read this if you want to post in this thread.*
This is not a thread to wish injuries on human beings, and it's not another thread for Raps and Phili fans to take shots at each other. Post in this thread if you want to discuss Phili, Embiid, what this means for the playoffs. Skip this thread if:
1. You're a Raps fan who wants to say karma. (Garbage thing to say!)
2. You're a Sixers fan who wants vengeance on Raps fans on the internet.
3. You're not a fan of either of these teams but you're just here to troll or give that edgy take.

Strikes and bans will be handed out quickly if it degenerates into an ugly fight or if anyone starts wishing injury on people.

Another reason to fire Doc Rivers!

29 points lead with 4 minutes left, this is safe for every team, even for Doc Rivers!

That about sums it up. If he doesn't return then we stand 0 chance against the Heat

Honestly I'd fire Doc the second Phillys season is over. And the only reason that I'd even wait that long is for the sake of the players and coaches not having to scramble with both their best player out and dealing with an interim coach.

Yup this is on Doc. The potential to choke a 3-0 lead got to him.

Unfortunate happening (except for Miami’s odds of moving on). Definitely shouldn’t have been in the game, but Doc Rivers totally knows what he’s doing out there

Gonna have to rely on Harden against this Heat defense. Oh boy...

Has Embiid ever had a playoffs without a major injury?

I mean its not his fault.

But seems inevitable that he will get hurt at some point.

They'll just double team him just like when he was on the Nets w/out KD. Show is over.

Kind of reminds me of the Derrick Rose injury where Thibodeau left him in a game that was already over in the playoffs, though I'm not sure this one is that serious. But that was just Thibodeau being Thibodeau. I think the specter of the 3-0 comeback and Doc's prior playoff history had a lot to do with this one. And it sucks. This had potential to be a great series but that looks dashed unless Embiid can heal pretty quick.

That would be the worst thing they could do. Let him go one on one with Butler or Tucker or Bam or whoever he switches on, and stay home on shooters. Same tactic for Maxey.

They don't need to double team Harden. He is not the same player who can put 30 points or more in every night

Sucks man. I hate when coaches leave their players in the game unnecessarily. I wanted to see Miami and Philly go at it.

Im pretty sure Embiid has had this injury before and rocked the facemask for it so hopefully he can come back in this series.

You hate to see an MVP go down like this . Siakam and Doc Rivers are certainly to blame , but hopefully we see a masked Embiid return at some point in the series .

Philly only stands a chance if Harden and Maxy play out of their minds.

He won't be going one on one versus those guys. They'll relentlessly run PnR to get a switch onto Herro, Robinson, or Vincent.
