I do wonder if Miami is feeling a sense Oladipo may not feel as wanted as he wants to be in Miami and may move on.... Miami only Oladipo's Bird rights, he'll be unrestricted. Oladipo is a previous all-star, still in his prime, worked hard to get back only not to be included in a rotation that had players like Robinson, Martin and even Vincent in it. I like 2 of those 3 players but if you're Oladipo that's pretty much disappointing.
I'm wondering if Oladipo is beating the Miami FO/Coaching staff expectations of where he'd be at now.
He's definitely leading the team in interviews.
He seems like a narcissist diva to be honest. Back to the bench!
You guys are nuts. Butler says and does stuff to be in the media all the time and it's "cool" but Oladipo after losing 20+ million this last season is trying to get more teams insterested in him after Miami has basically ignored him. Herro basically went on a celebrity tour after his first season and very few said anything about it other then make fun of his cereal.
He's in his prime, looks to be healthy finally after his 2nd big surgery and can't get on the court because of Gabe Vincent(who's a nice roleplayer) but he's Gabe Vincnet. Oladipo didn't even get all that much time once being allowed to play again to get the rust off and build some chemistry with the team. He didn't play in 9 different games after being cleared to play.
What were Oladipo's numbers in this year's regular season?
21.6 minutes, 12.4 pts, 2.9 reb, 3.5 ast, .6 stl 48% FG%, 42% 3pt%
All while playing good defense.
His first game, it wasn't he's back, no... it was a "celebration" for him to be past his rehab, that's pretty insulting if you ask me. I don't blame him one bit doing the Woj podcast once he did well as a starter in a playoff game but I do believe the rest of the media is coming from the Heat trying to express to Oladipo that they want him part of the team moving forward.
You can't tell me if Philadelphia decided to go with Vincent and bench Oladipo when he got healthy enough to play you wouldn't be laughing at how stupid they are. I think Spoelstra and possibly the FO miscalculated where Oladipo would be at come playoff time, instead of him being happy to be nearly over with rehab and getting the rust off, he's looking way better then they expected.
