Such a devastating match and it feels really hard to be proud of this team as the disappointment is too much to overcome, mostly because this series felt very winnable. Three massive collapses in the south Quarter are a very though pill to swallow. After the stupid bad pass of KAT that led to the first Memphis three by JJJ (IIRC), everything wenth south pretty quickly. One can discuss a lot about what the Team and Finch could have handled but the argument that we just don't have much experience is a very valid one. Hopefully the whole organisation as well as the players come up with the right conclusions and try to make the right adjustments.
After this series, regarding which players to keep, it is very hard to find many reasons to continue the path with DLo DLo DLo - he was the biggest disappointment by far in this series and I would look for another PG with a mainly defensive mindset as others have pointed out already.
We should really be happy about this season as for the first time in forever we have managed to finish a year on a rather positive note.
This said... I join one of the previous posters: a big hug from Brussels to you, fellow Wolves fans ❤

Respect to the Wolves. Definitely frustrating to let a winnable series slip away due to inexperience but it’s a huge learning opportunity for a young team. Ant really announced himself on a national stage and figured some things out in that series. McDaniels took a needed step forward and can hopefully continue that growth. KAT’s gotta be smarter and you’d have hoped he learned these lessons earlier in his career but it is what it is.

The future is bright with a good core & a good coach. Can’t wait to see everyone take a leap forward next year.

That’s what makes this tougher to swallow. If the defeats were just a bunch of game 2s where we lost by 20, then that’s one thing. It’s another where we’re blowing 15 pt 4th qtr leads vs a 2 seed and the better team 80% of the series.

I mean it’s good we scared them a lot and we’re closer to a the upper echelon of western conference teams than the group of play in teams. But any sort of mental development for some of these guys could be just as if not more challenging than physically getting better. Sometimes if you’re dumb, you’re dumb. First 10-15 games next season should be telling how much they studied their mistakes this off-season

If we start out like 10-5, 11-4 area then I’d say we learned something

If we stumble and are 6-8…then this core probably needs to be blown

Maybe the Wolves needed this playoff experience to get better? I think of how Towns melted down in the play-in, but overcame it to play a decent series. If he needed to do that to learn how to get control of his emotions, I’m glad he got it out of the way this year, rather than next year when we may have grander ambitions. Maybe it makes the summer more productive, with Towns focusing on not fouling, or the team realizing that hero ball did not get them leads through three quarters?

Like most, I hope they learn from this. But perhaps this was also just the price of admission to true contention down the road.

Grizzlies going back to the Ja attack to finish the game its very efficient. Got to to be able to attack the basket, that's something the wolves have to work on, jump shots to end games are just too unreliable. Get some layups, get some free throws. Very effective, of course you need a player who can get to the rim.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

It's easy to constantly shift the goal posts and it's the surest way to be unhappy about this season.

It's important to remind ourselves of what the expectations were coming in this season and just because they blew them out of the water, doesn't mean we should expect more.

Yeah, losing sucks, especially when you know they could have won... but that's the progress right there isn't it? Wolves teams of the past would have had zero chance in this series, but now that they did, instead of looking at how valuable of a lesson this has been, most around here will just decry "what could have been!".

By all means feel free to move those goal posts, just don't be surprised when you live a life of constant disappointment.

Luckily the team itself seems to have more awareness and perspective than it's fanbase.

Also, how do we get Brandon Clarke on this team next season?

Like seriously, I'm pretty sure he had over 200 rebounds in this series.
