NO way would I trade Reyes for Johan Santana.

That is a terrible thought.

what?

who cares if his ERA is 5! he pitches lots of innings!!
- Lefty

there are better ones.

There are a lot of reasons to like Willis.

no there aren't. he's built his rep off of 1 good season. 5 ERA, 1.6(!) WHIP, 241 H in 205 IP, a 1.68 K/BB ratio. you're willing to trade one or more of our prospects for that?

and i'll use caps all i want when someone says something ridiculous like that.

castillo should be back...we obviously need to go after a big game pitcher(johan for one) i think we need to get a reliable backup at first incase delgado keeps his downhill slide. look into acquiring another big bat and obviously bullpen depth incase they melt down again. i think we should also look into a young catcher(paulino perhaps as rumored a while ago) if we cant find 1 barret might be a good choice to platoon with castro if hes resigned.

You know Willis is going to give all he got every time, he wants the ball and is a crowd favorite. Yeah he sucked a bit this year, but he was also good the past three years. What lefty's can be had this winter that are better then Willis? Santana... thats about it.

He eats innings which goes a long way in helping the bullpen, something I think we all can say is important. We opened Oliver Perez with open arms because he had good stuff but was the most inconsistent pitcher in baseball aside from Ankiel. Yet you wouldnt take a chance on Willis? Dude is 25 years old and people act like he is washed up...

+1

but the fact that hes pitched so many innings at such a young age is kind of alarming
