this poll is nowhere near what i expected

lebron gets a pass
westbrook, the scapegoat of the year, is merely tied with kyrie for #3
harden escapes
simmons, who's rep was cemented LAST YEAR, remains on top
and kd is #2? i'm guessing people think this damages his ring years @gsw

i pretty much disagree down the line.
1- westbrook
2- lebron
3- kyrie
4- harden
5- kd
6- simmons

honorable mention - trae, knicks, vogel, ad, zion

LeBron is the oldest and has the most secure legacy of all of them by far. Why is having one of if not the best seasons ever for a 37 year old damaging his legacy. He was also just straight up better this year than Harden, Kyrie, Westbook, and Simmons despite having the most miles by far.

To me this was a season where LeBrons legacy gained steam because comparing him to his contemporaries on all time lists hes performing at a higher level at this age.

Someone like KD for instance is chasing LeBron from miles behind and his season was a dud especially comapred to what someone like LeBron did at the same age.

Why is LeBron even an option?

For me it's Westbrook. This year was downright disgraceful and embarrassing. His lowlights are some of the worst basketball I've ever seen. What makes matters worse, is that he was also named to the NBA 75th anniversary team this season.

It has to be testy Westy... I mean the guy was already trending downwards, but had been coasting on his laurels for a while there... once he hit the bright lights of Tinseltown that rep of his melted from the heat.

Voted for KD, guys like Simmons and Westbrook, they did not have good reputation to begin with.

KD..

Media painted him like a god last year..

Now, he’s a meme.

Westbrook, Simmons & Kyrie were jokes last year & this year. No good rep lost..

if at all, it just confirmed what we already knew.

Living in LA I saw a lot of Lakers games this year and the fact that Westbrook looked downright unplayable and on that contract I have to give him my vote. The guy was legitimately the worst player playing real minutes. He had maybe 10 games that he didn't look completely washed.

I said it before the ASG, I think he needs glasses. This whole season he looked like he had horrible depth perception. Between the airballs, the ridiculous bank shots off the top of the backboard and the passes that were 3-5ft off/high there just has to be an issue with his eyesight.

I don't care how much a player can decline, what we saw was something you shouldn't see from your local YMCA let alone a professional player. There had to be something going on with his eyesight.

I think in REALITY the guys that took the biggest hit are Westbrook and Kyrie.

So much focus was put on them during the year and most of the blame has been laid on them, so how can it not be them?

I know they already had a poor reputation going into this season, but there was still room to fall further and I believe they have.

Simmons,Kyrie and Westbrook have all take a major hit this year but if the warriors win the title this year with the same core(Green,Curry and Klay, but several years older)it will take a major hit for the Durant legacy,Huge hit

Simmons went from an All-Star with flaws to a likely provision in the next CBA contract and the negative face of player empowerment.

I think it’s Simmons. At least the other guys played.

Simmons' and Kyrie's issues extend beyond their play on the basketball court and to me that's a bigger hit to their reputation than these other guys.

I mean, Westbrook, really? Aging point guard whose game relied heavily on athleticism starts to get worse as he loses it? Are we that surprised?

For me, all the players played roughly the way I expected them to play. So they keep their reputation.
Except KD.

I never thought much of Simmons before the season. He just proved to the world he's an unprofessional loser.

Durant though made himself his own superteam and got swept. He just proved that when he's out making the superteams, it doesn't go well.

If you think it’s bad for Durant right now, imagine if Golden State wins the chip. Nightmare level look for him. Would just further validate the perception that a lot of people have about him just hopping on a dynasty in progress. This could get worse for him.

My whole thing with KD is I’m just tired of people lazily calling him the best player in the world mainly because he’s the most accomplished player left standing in many peoples eyes as Lebron exits the conversation (despite gaudy individual stats from Bron, he’s been phased out of the convo). He’s not Giannis and he’s not Jokic at the moment impact wise and it’s really not debatable at all in my view, and that’s not even accounting for his wildly injury prone nature of late.

No one looks worse than Simmons though.

Westbrook’s reputation was already in shambles. People called that debacle from day one. LeBron? Nah. KD was the victim of crappy choice of teammates as much as anything. Kyrie was already known as a fruitcake. So that leaves Harden and Simmons, both guys that most expected to rebound once they forced moves to new teams. I think Harden had higher expectations so I’ll go with him by a small margin. Wouldn’t argue against Ben either.
