He's declared for the draft but hasn't hired an agent. I'm also a big fan of his! People get hung up on the weight thing, but he really came on strong the latter half of the year and (for me at least) addressed some of the toughness concerns. He's also much more of a wing than a big, so I'm less concerned about him getting pushed around. He obviously has a lot of development left, but the upside is ridiculous and there's a lot of skills already there. IMO he's well worth the gamble at #33.

I watched all of his mins on synergy which wasn't that much. I really love his defensive upside and his shooting ability.

He's the type of player that could Steal you a quarter / half / game in the playoffs. Ala Maxi just did against Utah.

But he's not a 5 ??

So D'Angelo Russell doesn't really work right now for a trade, but if it doesn't go well on his new team, maybe the MLE signing and 2 of Boucher, Thad and Birch will get up to 28M or so and we can just sneak enough money to make that move for him as a 6th man.

Hope we get Tyus Jones or Lu Dort as a backup guard, Jalen Smith to replace Boucher and Hartenstein as a big body. Those all seem like cheap, realistic options to fill out the roster.

Then take an upside pick like one of John Butler, Peyton Watson, Ousmane Dieng or Leonard Miller.

Marcus Bingham could be an interesting camp invite or undrafted freeagent. If we don’t go big with the early second, I would give him a look.

Would love to pick up Mike Muscala for the vet min or even MLE this off-season.
6'10, 240lb Center.

He had a terrific season in OKC last year off the bench.

Averaged 8 points in 14mpg (20ppg per 36) on 46/43/84 splits.
Was a terrific catch and shoot 3pt shooter. (5.1ppg)

Put up career numbers across the board: 19.7 PER, .170 WS/48, 3.8 OBPM, 1.2 DBPM & 110 DRTG (VERY GOOD considering how bad OKC was), 1.1 VORP, & 124ORTG.

Image

This is exactly the type of guy you want rounding out the bench. A perfect replacement for Khem Birch.
He will excel in limited minutes (i.e. 8-15mpg).

He's not a free agent. Team option for only $3.5M which will no doubt be picked up

That would be one expensive 6th man. Granted, only 1 year left on his deal.

Is it just me or does Zion on this roster make anyone else horny? We have the pieces to get him and the Pelicans are about to try to undercut him on his contract. It makes a lot of sense. The only problem is our Jamaican restaurants might end his career entirely.

I assumed they'd let him walk since they need some space on their roster all the guys they're gonna draft this year. He's also 30.

Based on Masai’s comments Fred is not getting traded and it wouldn’t shock me if he signs that 4-year extension this summer. Also, I don’t expect big moves either.

If I had to guess the Raps will probably:

>Re-sign Boucher for 3-years $30 mill.
>Re-sign Champangnie/Johnson for 2-years at the minimum.
>Waive (or use in a trade as filler) Svi/Brooks.
>Draft an athletic wing with the 33rd pick.
>Sign Derrick Jones Jr./Troy Brown Jr./Jarrett Culver with the BAE.
>Sign Gary Harris with the MLE.
>Try to shop Birch but ultimately find no suitors.
>Listen to offers on GTJ but no one meets the asking price.

Then roll with:

FVV/Flynn/Banton
GTJ/Harris/Johnson
OG/Jones Jr/Champangnie/33rd pick
Siakam/Boucher
Barnes/Achiuwa/Birch
Johnston

Let's make everybody happy. Let's make the Trents happy
to Lakers: Gary Trent Jr
to Pacers: THT + Reeves + Flynn+ Nunn
to Raps : Myles + Brissett

Interesting idea. I like it for the Raptors. Not sure the value is right for the Pacers though. Think the Lakers would need to kick in more value

Trying to sell it with Talen Horton-Tucker as that big prospect to go grow with Haliburton in a backcourt of the future (both born in the year 2K).*and reform that Iowa State Backcourt

I am not entirely sure if THT has been overhyped. He did look really good in our game in LA.

I really think we should go after Mo Bamba. He's healthy and has been all year, he's shooting those above the break 3's that would open up the paint for Scottie and Pascal, he's at 1.7blk per game, he's 23 with a 7'10 wingspan, etc etc.

Major knock on him is effort level and situational awareness but if anyone can teach this kid how to play and be a pro, it's Nick and co. In games where his energy level is high and he's bouncy, the kid is scary. Here's an example of a game where he played like he had something to prove. At 25 mins a night he'd be perfect because we could also have plenty of time for the 6'9 switch everything lineup that is becoming our identity, but also be serviceable vs big C's in the 2 most important categories- rim protection and floor spacing.

Any idea how much he'll cost?
