That team is way more balanced, still long, and would contend for the championship!

No, they wouldn't.

Next year? No, but I'd have a lot more hope in the next 2-5 years.

Pascal and Barnes work well together.

Pretty hard to break that duo up unless an absolute stud comes back that fits better. Rudy is interesting but I wouldn't do Pascal for Rudy straight up. Pascal is excellent on both sides of floor and Rudy is elite during the regular season on defense. You can blame coaching and terrible defensive teammates, and be right, but until Rudy is on a good defensive team and makes the playoffs and has a strong run there is always going to be a question mark about him...

Personally, I really like our core group. As Barnes develops I think he's going to be a bit of Magic Draymond hybrid where you can run a lot of the offense through him. And you can also run the offense through Pascal which turns FVV into more of a shooter which is his best role.

Gary Trent JR is still young and should continue to improve.
Precious is young and made great strides this year.
OG improved and still can take more strides forward.
Banton has potential to be an excellent backup pg that doubles down on the big lineup.
Young/Boucher or both give us an excellent versatile big.

What we need, aside from our young guys developing is a mobile big who can bang. Birch should be traded or third C.
And we need more shooting.

We have such good balance and depth in our top 6. And once Barnes and Trent Jr increase their usage rates we are going to be even stronger. The future is bright and Pascal can be a huge part of that, so unless a real start or game changer comes back we need to keep him.

but what is the right deal to you?

It depends what the trade market is like. I can’t just make a scenario that isn’t possible. Totally depends on the player, players or assets involved. If it’s the right deal then I’d pull the trigger, just like I stated.

I didn’t propose a trade or I would have stated that. Pascal played well not great but well, he’s not a guy that I would come out to say I’d never move.

that team would fit much better together, is more talented and might be a superteam if players develop, lol.

A big issue with the current roster is that our 2 undersized guards can't get to the rim along with having a front court that fits together.

Reality is everyone would be over the moon if we could facilitate those type of trades.

A team with Towns as the veteran presence is doomed to fail.

Towns will mature and grow. That team would be much better in the future than what we have right now.

You don't really think Siakam is top 15... do you?

In no particular order...
Doncic
Jokic
Curry
Morant
Embiid
Giannis
Durant
Kyrie
Tatum
Young
Butler
Lebron
George
Kawhi
Davis

Then you have fringe guys like
Beal
Adebayo
Brown
Klay
Harden
Lillard
SGA
Zion
KAT
Gobert/Mitchell
CP3/Booker

Siakam is closer to top 30 than he is top 15. He had a great individual year with good team success in the regular season.

Top 15-20 is a pretty fair assessment for Siakam this season, so making the claim that there are "like 15 players in the NBA better than Siakam for the next two years" isn't too farfetched. Do you think LeBron will still be putting up 30/8/6 when he's 40? AD, Kawhi and PG have all had pretty big injury concerns over the past few years and in the case of AD/PG, I don't think they are clearly better than Siakam. Most of those fringe guys you listed have fallen off a bit as of late (Beal, Harden, Lillard and Klay), so it's not unreasonable to expect Siakam to be better in the next 2 seasons.

From a potential standpoint, it's nearly impossible to argue otherwise. I just don't like that we'd essentially be paying him top dollar to be Cavaliers Kevin Love 2.0.

We'd have a lot of firepower but I don't think we'd be competent enough defensively to win a championship with that group.

As a #1 guy, I agree. But I think on a new team without the history of being a #1 pick and expectations of being "the man", with Scottie emerging as a star, maybe he gets shuffled down to #3 and finds a comfort level there.

With Embiid submitting the forms to play for France, I have heard a rumor about Pascal doing the same, but to play for Canada

That and a renewed focus and dedication to the defensive end.
