Re: [Windhorst] Pascal Siakam Potentially Could Be Available For The Right Trade
Originally I was all for moving on from Pascal this off season with (Barnes & OG) at the helm. Pascal had his best seasson for us. Out of all the other starters he compliments Barnes the best. Who at this point I don't think anybody can argue is the future of the team. Anybody can be had for the right price but I highly don't we're actively shopping Pascal and we sure the hell better not be for Rudy or Donovan Mitchell for that matter. I would rather move FVV and/or OG.

I don't see it that way. No reason they couldn't both be ball handlers. Like Kyle/Fred or other two point guard pairs, only much taller.
They can play together, no one is blocking Scottie's path

There is only one ball, and eventually it is going to end up in Scottie's hands for the majority of the time he is on the court. The Raps also have the benefit of having another tall PG in Banton, who can come off the bench when Scottie needs a rest.
With your Kyle/Fred comparison, Fred played more off ball, and they were both great shooters, that allowed them to each play off ball.
Scottie being the rookie this year just filled the gaps for the team. Eventually, he is going to want to drive the bus.
I think the team would want to surround Scottie with shooters, as well as hope he develops his own shot enough that he could get it off when given room. The shooters on this team seem to be FVV, GTJ and OG.
That's why, if the team feels Scottie could jump into that role immediately (the one PS thrived in this year), I could see them doing a PS for Gobert swap. However, I see Utah trying to move Mitchell first before Gobert.
Raps half court offence would be the ball in Scottie's hands just beyond the top of the key, with Gobert in the dunkers spot, waiting for lobs, and the 3 shooters on the perimeter.

Pascal played point this year out of necessity. And did great. But if Scottie truly became a real PG, which I think is a ways off still, Pascal could still be a scoring wing like he was when Kyle was here. It's not like Pascal HAS to play point. He's a great 3-4 too

Wouldn’t you say that since he has played the point, he has looked his best?
I don’t see him relinquishing that role.

Re: [Windhorst] Pascal Siakam Potentially Could Be Available For The Right Trade
Right out of an article on Sportsnet about NN’s exit interview:
“As a team, they didn’t shoot very well (27th in True Shooting percentage), lacked a lob threat (the Raptors were 19th in dunks as a team and didn’t have a player in the top forty for dunks individually)….
And lob threat?
“That would help too. I think that probably lifts a little bit of pressure for guys like Fred [VanVleet] and Gary [Trent Jr.], OG [Anunoby], those guys that could get more open corner looks because of the pressure being put on the rim on the weak side.””

Re: [Windhorst] Pascal Siakam Potentially Could Be Available For The Right Trade
We know PS can be a championship #2 option
We know Scottie isn't moving and should be a fine #3 option, even now
That leaves OG, Fred and Gary. If we did move 2+ for a legit #1 option, we still have one left for the 4th option. So adding option #5....from within or outside, should be at least much easier to add. Especially considering we could have Achiuwa, Boucher and Thad lined up.
But of course, easier said than done adding that #1. Rudy certainly isn't it.

that team would fit much better together, is more talented and might be a superteam if players develop, lol.
A big issue with the current roster is that our 2 undersized guards can't get to the rim along with having a front court that fits together.
Reality is everyone would be over the moon if we could facilitate those type of trades.
A team with Towns as the veteran presence is doomed to fail.
Absolutely. He had a poor outing in the playoffs. Sure, he can shoot the lights out but he’s a horrible defender and just isn’t a leader.

I don't see how we can allow all of Scottie, OG, Pascal and precious to develop to their full potential. All those players have too much overlap that at some point something has to give to avoid stunting the growth of the others.
It's definitely not Scottie or precious, so at one point managment will have to decide on how we can use the other assets to complete the holes on the team.

Masai can lure Siakam+ filler at MEM and try to grab a handful of their young talent, try my luck to have Banes included
I would explore FVV as well.

Shows how worthless this all is from Windhorst or from Ujiri. But we never get such offer, so he'll stay.

I really doubt Pascal is moved. I think (and hope) Masai is listening to offers for FVV and GTJ, who are due pay raises soon and do not fit the long boi blueprint AND cannot get to the basket/draw free throws. The issue is they are #1 and #2 in three point attempts, so if you are trading one of them it needs to be for a player who is also a volume 3 point shooter (like Mitchell or Poole).

You gotta be kidding me. Siakam is a 2-way top-15 player in the nba. He just proved how he can overcome crappy situations and come back from them. Until and unless we have a top-5 type finals MVP type, there is no value in losing Siakam. He is our primary offensive threat, creates for everyone, dictates our entire offensive persona, and is elite defensively. The league undervalues him tremendously. You just do not trade undervalued players. If Siakam was in the lakers, he would be classified as a superstar. And I’m sorry I’m just loyal to him. He was a core player in winning us a championship! He has my loyalty for life. Pascal and Fred should be exempt from These dumb lazy trade ideas.

There's maybe like 10 guys in the league I'd trade Siakam for, none of whom are really available
Doncic
Jokic
Curry
Morant
Embiid
Giannis
Durant
Tatum
Kawhi
it quickly gets very unclear after those guys.

I love Siakam but I would trade him for a younger star like Booker or an up and coming future star like Mobley, Cade, etc. in a heartbeat. I am in the camp that thinks you can absolutely build around a 20 year old and 28 year old at the same time (look at the age difference between CP3 and Booker/Ayton), but it would be much more convenient to be able to build around a 20 year old and a 25 year old (for example), or two 20 year olds, etc.
