Just curious..
If GS offered Poole/Kuminga/Wiggins for Pascal, do we do it?
Fred/Poole
Gary/Poole
Barnes/Wiggins
OG/Thad
Precious/Dieng? Or whatever free agent at 12-16 mpg

lots of great free agent guard options we can target with the MLE or in sign & trades:
Oladipo, Gary Harris, Wesley Matthews, Wayne Ellington, Tyus Jones
at C the list doesn’t get me as excited but I wouldn’t hate adding any of:
Drummond, Thomas Bryant, Dedmon
FWIW we were previously linked to Wes Matthews under Masai (albeit years ago)

Yeah, but they wouldn't. Poole has gotten very good and will be cheaper than Siakam, and while Siakam is much better than Wiggins, Kuminga is too much to bridge the gap. I think it would be something like Kuminga OR Poole and Wiggins and a future 1st or even two lottery protected ones.
Where's the D?

Yeah it's an overpay but GS likely had interest. Having Poole is nice but Pascal fills a void for them.
Would you consider Poole/Wiggins/First for Pascal?

Well we can only offer MLE, Orlando would surely match it. I'd say he gets a little above MLEMorse Code wrote:I really think we should go after Mo Bamba. He's healthy and has been all year, he's shooting those above the break 3's that would open up the paint for Scottie and Pascal, he's at 1.7blk per game, he's 23 with a 7'10 wingspan, etc etc.
Major knock on him is effort level and situational awareness but if anyone can teach this kid how to play and be a pro, it's Nick and co. In games where his energy level is high and he's bouncy, the kid is scary. Here's an example of a game where he played like he had something to prove. At 25 mins a night he'd be perfect because we could also have plenty of time for the 6'9 switch everything lineup that is becoming our identity, but also be serviceable vs big C's in the 2 most important categories- rim protection and floor spacing.
Any idea how much he'll cost?

Pacers get robbed, and Lakers make out like bandits. Good deal for us too. Lakers should send Pacers their 2028 1st.ash_k wrote:Let's make everybody happy. Let's make the Trents happy

No way GSW gives up Poole, he's been very productive on a rookie scale contract.
If there's a way to snag Kuminga from them with GTJ/OG, I would like that. Would need Warriors to lose either this round or next though to think about trades.

Poole is extension eligible this summer though. Might not have him for cheap for long.

I don't think Masai would trade down for an unknown quality in Kuminga to replace GTJ or OG. Kuminga is probably the better all round and fluid athlete though. thats the only thing i would give Kuminga over OG or GTJ.

You're right that he is extension eligible, or they can wait until he's a RFA. The GSW owners are not cheap though, so don't see them trading him to save money. He's looking like their 2nd/3rd best player right now.

I agree Masai likely wouldn't do it, it would be taking a step back for sure in the short term. It's a bet on Kuminga's potential and having more control over his contract. I've been pretty high on Kuminga since the draft, so I'm likely higher on him than most.

probably. wondering if the Raptors had indeed stayed at the 7th draft slot, would they have taken Kuminga.

I think we would. I could see Wiggins moving to a third team though

I like Bamba and hoped we could have gotten him at the deadline. He started to put it together this past year and I think a winning situation like Toronto would be huge for him.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of offers Bamba gets. He has a ~$10M qualifying offer, which is basically the non-taxpayer MLE. If he thinks he can earn more than that then it's possible he takes the QO so he can become an UFA after next season. I assume Orlando will match anything in the $10-14M AAV range given the questions around Isaac's health.

I really got the impression that Giddey was our guy if we had stayed at 7 (even though he went #6, but in a re-draft OKC may have drafted before). Otherwise, I think we would have taken whichever of Giddey/Kuminga dropped.

maybe, but seeing what we saw in year 1, they'd probably go Kuminga because Giddey's defense is maybe mediocre/average at best, and he only has a 6-7 wingspan, which probably plays a part to his (lack of) effectiveness on defense. offensive sure, he was like a wizard.
Raptors have a type right now. long wingspan defensive upside. i doubt they were serious on Giddey all things considered. obviously you pick the BPA too as well. and some rumours that they wanted to move up to #3 prior to the draft to get Mobley. don't know how serious they were on Giddey.
