Wouldn’t be surprised to see us draft Sharpe.

Re: 2022 draft/prospects thread
Sharpe is the big unknown in this draft for nobody has seen him play in over a year, making him this year's
2018 version of Simons.
It wouldn't be a big endorsement of building around Dame, who has been asking for a big wing.

Re: 2022 draft/prospects thread
I would be fine with Sharpe at 6 if we move Dame. The allure of a backcourt that has size is a dream I have nearly given up on at this point.
He is wildly talented, just also so unknown.

Re: 2022 draft/prospects thread
Likely though the market for Dame would be limited until he gets back onto the court.
Sharpe is the unknown player. If he really blows up at the draft combine and individual workouts,
there might be some buzz but at most, he's been shooting in the gym by himself and he's bound to
be rusty for he didn't play last season.
Unless the Blazers get lucky and end up in the top 3, their pick after Holmgren, Smith, Banchero,
Ivey and perhaps Murray go, looks to be amongst Sharpe, Griffin, Mathurin, Davis, Duren. It might not
really matter if they draft 6-8 unless Murray is there at six.
It'll be interesting to see after the draft combine measurements come out, if guys like Murray drop
if he's closer to 6-6 than 6-8.

The dream scenario is if Murray's measurements are good, but Indianna are more attracted to a younger player with more 'youthful upside' for lack of better words.

Re: 2022 draft/prospects thread
I suspect he'll measure out to be a legit 6-8 for he has a 6-11 wingspan according to the Kings
scouts (who love him for the Kings). They seem to view him as a near match with Harrison Barnes,
which would allow them to play Sabonis, Barnes and Murray as an interchangeable front line.

I just don't see how Murray gets by OKC and Indiana unless they fall and we move up. My worry is that we move up a couple spots and pass on him for one of the bigs.

Shaedon Sharpe could go anywhere from #1 to #10.
Speaking of, I'd be happy to draft Shaedon on the basis of BPA (I acknowledge he doesn't align with our fit needs, as we need a big or SF).

Murray really isnt the type of player OKC has been targeting. I think they go Sharpe if they fall below 4.

Re: 2022 draft/prospects thread
There is some footage of Sharpe working out and he does look like he will be an explosive player
from the beginning. He likely if he had come back to play for UK, would have been a top 3 pick
in this draft.

Re: 2022 draft/prospects thread
Let's see what exact pick Blazers will land first.
Anyway, selecting Smith is the best possible outcome for me. Sharpe could be a nice consolation prize if we fail to reach Smith's draft range.
And I still would prefer to see that pick being traded in a package for a proven all star player, which obviously might be difficult to pull at this point.

Re: 2022 draft/prospects thread
If we land at 6 I think it's Murray or Griffin...but I'm not sure D.Daniels isn't a better pick/player... his elite defense and playmaking at SF (if he measures 6'7"+) compliments the rest of the roster so well.
Dame
Ant
Daniels
Grant
Nurk
Hart
Winslow
Watford
Eubanks
GB3
Nas
Maybe Keon
That connector role Dyson can play should help bring the best out of our stars and young players.
If getting Grant doesn't cost Keon
Imagine sending out a defensive lineup of
Keon
Hart
Daniels
Nas
Grant
At times when you need to be able to switch and run off stops...looks good to me.
Sooooo if we can trade down a d grab Daniels and Sochan I would be ecstatic especially if the Bucks pick and #36/TPE could land us Grant.

Re: 2022 draft/prospects thread
Daniels is a combo guard that can't shoot not a SF. If we trade down, I'm not completely opposed to him. It really depends on who's there 6. I don't see star potential personally, but his play making and rebounding are intriguing.

Jabari
Sharpe
Ivey
Murray.
Griffin isn't infiltrating that imo.

And I'd also take Mathurin over Griffin, so have Griffin at no higher than #8.

Re: 2022 draft/prospects thread
Griffin has a ton of potential for being this good of a shooter and having an NBA body at 18 already, but I’m hoping he jumps into the top 5 so someone else falls to us. He seems like a classic SAC pick.

Re: 2022 draft/prospects thread
I just feel something missing with AJ. He has a big body, but isnt the most fluid mover and seems robotic. I also think his 3PT shooting is an anomaly, I think he isnt close to as good a shooter in the NBA as in College. Just a feeling.
I think OG would be the best case scenario but if you asked me to bet if AJ would be as good as OG, I wouldnt put a penny on it.
