How much would you pay for Isaiah Hartenstein?
How much would you pay for Naz Reid?

Doesn’t Jalen mcdaniels have another year left with a Charlotte?
I am all for getting the brothers on the same team.

you are right, Charlotte has club option for '22-'23 season
like Wolves do with Nowell, Naz

Similar arrangement too I'd imagine, where if they exercise his TO he'll be unrestricted in '23. Otherwise, he's restricted in '22.

Re: 2022 Free Agency
Reality check... RoCo was the only FA who I thought could consider signing with us. But I forget, this is MIN. LAC get ready for last dance next season, so they overpaid RoCo a bit. Another side effect is that with high probability TP will re-sign with us.

Covington has really declined since we had him, and I agree — to me, two years for $24 is too much. That said, with free agency so sparse, somebody would probably have offered him the MLE.
Some of the Trade Board think this signing leads to a trade: DLo for Morris + Kennard/Jackson?

Re: 2022 Free Agency
In past...I may have been much higher on a potential deal along those lines...but I found it very interesting in some of those Clip preview pods (that probably were on w/ Dane)....the warts that stood out from their side about Morris & others....& then after going back & watching some games...I get better why they feel that way which has significantly pushed him down my wish list targets.shrink wrote:minimus wrote:Reality check... Re: 2022 Free Agency
Since Wolves seem almost assuredly to use MLE considering the room below the lux this year, but only having that one bullet per say....Isn't it almost incumbent to say make the DLo trade happen if it's going to sooner than later...as that return would strongly dictate which way you go MLE wise, no? And maybe, pretty obvious to most when really considered, but I think where it caught me some...is I think we'll know DLo's fate pretty early on...really see the likelihood of him getting dealt say post-draft as really minimal....which also means...is that Sachin's call &/or will his fate be decided before that trade were to happen...which would seemingly make sense?

Re: 2022 Free Agency
They also have the Rubio/Prince TPE and the BAE so the MLE isn’t necessarily their only swing at adding someone. I haven’t taken close enough of a look to see how plausible using the MLE and one or both of them is though.
Edit: I’d assume the MLE is used on a singular player and the BAE is used to give a second or two a 4th year and re-sign Nate Knight though. At least I’m optimistically hoping they bring Knight back.

Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

The Rubio/Prince TE is out there, & I do hope that we can utilize it...but pretty tight window to find deal that makes sense with it before it expires?Mamba4Goat wrote:They also have the Rubio/Prince TPE and the BAE so the MLE isn’t necessarily their only swing at adding someone. BAE-- I didn't really consider due to your other point...2nds, Nathan Knight possibly? Overall, just need to consolidate some of it.. due to roster # crunch.

Re: 2022 Free Agency
I think we should target Bobby Portis with our MLE. 250, rebounds, can hit a 3P.
Or maybe something more complicated? If something happened (like an injury) to cause him to pick up his $4.6 player option, we could work something out to trade him into the Rubio PO, and maybe extend him if he wanted some security.

Agreed. Portis would be fantastic, IMO. Plus he's young enough to be part of our team going forward. He's got a mean streak we could use, veteran, plays defense, battle tested in the playoffs.

Yeah...Portis looks good. His 3 pt shot also looks pretty good. It's obvious that he took a discount after last year to show some loyalty to Bucks..would be surprised if he takes discount again and stays with Bucks.

Re: 2022 Free Agency
Portis and Beverley on the same team would be a pretty fun energy.
Unfortunately he seems to love it in Milwaukee and I believe he took less last year to be there. I think he’s staying unless Milwaukee doesn’t want him back for some crazy reason.

Re: 2022 Free Agency
I feel like Portis almost should be our Plan A. He likes MIL, but he and Pat do have the Razorback connection which could appeal. I wouldn't hesitate to offer the full MLE imo.

1,000,000,000,000% yes offer Portis the full MLE.
It would have been great brining RoCo back, but that's not going to happen so Portis is definitely the target IMO.

Re: 2022 Free Agency
For sure....I'd love to have him...but I would be massively surprised if Bucks don't bring both him & Connaugton back. I get that it most likely puts them into the lux...but they're both so critical in their rotation & what they do...just can't see them walking away from either one @ this point in their run?KGdaBom wrote:Klomp wrote:I feel like Portis almost should be our Plan A. Portis signed that contract last season with Bucks with player option for 2022-23 so that he could establish Early Bird rights with Bucks, so he'll likely decline the PO and Bucks will be able to offer him more than full MLE with Early Bird ($11 mil+ first season)

I get it's unlikely that we get Portis. It's probably unlikely we get anybody good at all. Even one tiny bit good is probably not going to happen, but hey a man can dream and aim high.

Re: 2022 Free Agency
Thomas Bryant might be interesting, he'll be full season past his knee injury
pretty decent size with mobility (at least pre-injury), some outside shooting
Wiz have KP and Gafford on long-term contracts already, seems likely he'll be looking for new team
Naz's is probably better player at this point, and Bryant isn't that fundamentally different other than being longer and bit better rebounder
playing two of KAT/NAZ/Bryant together at same time is pretty iffy, in particular with how down sized playoffs are
but its pretty limited options for PF, combo forward types since every team wants that type of player, so a decently athletic "big" like Bryant might be the best you can do, in FA at least
