Multi generation NBA players is not uncommon, but finding multi generation NBA players where the kids are taller than the dads is quite rare I think.

Off the top of my head....

I'm sure there are more, but definitely not a very high number compared to NBA players who are shorter than their dads.

so if your dad is incredibly tall is very likely that -both- of his parents were tall

if klay thompson has a huge dad but an average height mom he will be unlikely to match or beat his dad height

is the players who marry tall women who may have huge sons taller than them

Most kids are taller than their parents. No mistake that these midieval knights were actually super short guys, humans do get taller and taller it seems, its a gene that overpowers other genes, right?

This is exactly what you'd expect in terms of any given offspring. Regression to the mean.

NBA players are already likely to be (tall) height outliers, so their children are likely to be shorter. When the sons are taller, it will likely be from NBA fathers who were already relatively short in NBA terms.

That being said...if the son does end up taller, that alone greatly increases his odds of making the NBA.
