False notion. Marriage is not about love. If it blossoms into that, that’s great. That’s not really the purpose though. It’s about duty. A man’s duty to his wife. A wife’s duty to her husband. They hopefully create children they have a duty to. And the children have a duty to their parents. It’s an arrangement/deal that is made that is supposed to benefit all parties and society as a whole. The romanticization of marriage (and the romantic dating nonsense that lasts years) has corrupted society for far too long. It’s kind of sad.

Now as for whether it makes sense to have “creating athletically gifted/tall children” as one of the staples of the agreement you iron out, we’ll that’s debatable. It’s up to the people that decide to hammer out a deal and get married.

I work in medical spa, our accountant is 6'5 woman, our head physiotherapist is 6'5 woman, my main colleague before maternity leave was 6'3 woman, and our director of medicine is 6'7 man. Being 5'9 man in my place absolutely sucks.

And the children of marriages that align with my view grow up in a two parent household. Increasingly rare in America. But hey, I’m sure there’s no benefit to that. It’s not like most degenerates were raised in a single parent household. /s

Since height is hereditary it goes without saying that the height of both parents is going to affect the height of the child. That's a given. My "you have to be joking" comment was about you saying that NBA players (or any human, in general) should care about their kid's height so much that it affects who they marry. The goal of a marriage (or any kind of romantic relationship) isn't to produce the perfect offspring. It's to, you know, love each other and spending your life together. Nothing else matters.

this is why I say it's shortsighted of NBA players to marry petite hotties. Gotta think of your future and marry a volleyball or basketball player or tall track athlete. Give yourself better odds of having a tall kid.

Genetics are very unpredictable. I know two brothers who are 6'8 and 6'3 but both their parents were only 5'7 so you would never think they were going to grow as tall as they were. I also know two brothers who are 6'3 and 6'1 and their dad were 5'7 and their mom is 4'11. I also know 2 brothers who are only 5'8 despite having a father whose 6'3 and their mother being 5'10.

I do believe if your parents are tall it definitely increases the odds of you being tall but it's not always a guarantee.
