I mean yeah? This thread is about Luka so I replied accordingly and even said I get it. Flipping sucks across the board.

Fair

It's sad to watch great players flop because it helps them increase their odds of winning. Seeing huge players ending up on the floor due to minimal contact is embarrassing  but if the refs stop falling for it (they won't), then they'll stop doing it.

Every flopper is insufferable and you should get a T if you flop - that solves flopping

Or have independent reviews done of each game (similar to the final 2 minute report) and penalize refs that consistently fall for flops.

Yeah today's Suns-Mavs game was especially flop heavy. Lots of Booker flops offensively.
It's time for 5 refs.

Paul, Crowder, Booker, Payne, Luka, Brunson have all been awful... unwatchable game(s).

Give the man some credit, pls. First he got hit by Crowder in the balls in Game 1 intentionally, then CP3 tried to purposely fall on (locked) Brunson's arm, then today Doncic played his normal 1 vs 1 against CP3 and CP3 flopped very maginficently and then Doncic got I think the 2nd foul in the 1st quarter.

Then he figured out that the refs will just call anything and took the flopping and the "antics" game to the Suns, by getting CP3 out of the game. You've gotta admit, it was pretty smart. And the Suns completely deserved it, with all the flopping from CP3, Booker and Crowder. They were doing it first.

Hell, even as a Bucks fan I get irritated watching Middleton flop. It gets annoying...nobody can play defense anymore. Nobody wants to block a shot, just take a charge. Most players are looking to create a foul instead of making a shot.

Case in point...yesterday Jaylen Brown blew by Jrue. Jrue was behind him, he had a free shot.....instead he backed up into Jrue and flopped. If he just goes straight up, it's an easy two points. Too much flopping on both ends of the court.

very true- it's a league wide problem and the refs should be extra careful to not fall for it. Silver should really instruct the refs to crack down on this because it threatens the integrity of the league- it turns off so many fans.

If he doesn’t flop he doesn’t get calls

He has to flop. When these little guys hit him they have no effect on him.. so he has to flop to show some effect

LBJ needs to learn you can never over flop , go back to the heatles days.
Stop being so disrespectful.

bisme37 wrote:I don't like it but you can blame the refs just as much as the players. In a lot of cases if you don't hit the floor you don't get the call.

The same level of contact is or isn't a foul based on how much the player flops, basically.

So It goes both ways and in many cases it's the smart basketball play, unfortunately.

Yeah, Luka wasn't flopping enough and it was going against him because the refs weren't calling some contact. If the refs just did their job and didn't compensate players for going down when they feel contact, it wouldn't happen. But it's an impossible job, honestly. ROBO REFS!!!

I think people are exaggerating greatly the flopping in this game.

I wouldn't detest it so much if he didn't bitch to the refs and act like he's been murdered each time he drives to the rim.

We all hate all players flopping but as a former basketball player, I will tell you one thing. Players are often pulling, pushing, scratching, and hitting you, the better player you are the more you handle the ball the more you feel it.
And what people call flopping is usually emphasizing on those little fouls, so that they even get noticed by the ref. It is not nice to watch, but players learn to "survive" and fight against those things.

With that said, no one likes to see it, and what we all hate is "phantom" flopping, when there was absolutely nothing and people just flop. That is even worse.

I think CP3 is, he had the opportunity to see it from the front rows tonight.

That's why I don't get the hate for this game, to me he went down when he got hit and didn't get a lot of those. The one that I'm not sure was deserved was the Bridges' foul, but even then, Luka got tangled with Bridges' leg. So it wasn't "phantom flopping".

It seems like a lot of hate for not much. But Luka does have a lot of hater, so I'm not surprised that they are grabbing at anything that they can.

Yes I know CP is the master of these things, but come on Luka does it every possession.

a flop is a flop is a flop

you don't want his flopping then you have to be against ALL flopping
the problem is flopping, not luka flopping
