Re: Anyone Else Tired Of Watching Doncic Hit The Floor Flopping?
People always look at those things as if:
1) Could he stay on both feet?
2) It wasn't such a hard hit on the face, but he put his head backward as if he got slammed with a baseball bat, and so on and on...
But the reality is... those things are preventing you to shoot effectively, playing effectively, and are fouls, by swinging your head, by dropping to the floor, you are signaling to the ref that contact was made. A foul is a foul in the end...
The softest fouls are usually and 1s... and the reason is cause every touch on your hand will definitely obstruct your attempt to score, so if they weren't called everyone would be doing it constantly.
Fun fact, go check the most FTs shots in the history of the NBA for playoffs or regular season and you will see this is not a new thing. MJ has the crown, not Harden...

The one with Tatum on the fast break dunk in game 3 was strange. Dude came down holding his left wrist, which made no contact with anything anywhere.

nah doncic is my second favorite player to watch. he’s just absolute magic. i never notice that he’s flopping anymore than anyone else. don’t get me wrong i wish the nba would get rid of flopping but i don’t think he’s any worse than anyone.

Lol Luka went from complaining because he hardly got calls because he’s big. To joining the NBA flop era. Today went extremely excessive. Definitely tarnished the entertainment value of this game. It is what it is.

Not really....

Next time someone says they are whistling a lot in todays era and calling all those fouls...

Well… it was a really hard foul (not flagrant)… and hit hit the stanchion and then fell back with both his hands down. He easily could’ve hurt it a bit when falling. Are you saying he was faking it after that? I mean in terms of fouls that’s one of the more dangerous ones that can happen. Full speed dunk and getting hit in the air.

Brad Townsend: Doncic said that on the play at the end of the half when he drew Paul’s fourth foul, Paul asked. “Did I push you that hard?” Doncic responded, “No, but it was a good play.” Paul: “I know.”

Can someone explain this joke to us? Should we know who's in the photo?
I believe that's supposed to be a picture of Chris Paul in a Sun uniform.
So when he get's hit, he turns into a flopper like Chris Paul.. I guess.
It's a terribad joke.

That's definitely not statmuse picture of Chris Paul. Just judging the picture I'd guess that must be Tacko Fall and the joke is that he falls so still pretty bad

That 05-06 season from Wade was unforgettable. You literally could not stay in front of him. I don't remember it as a flop fest. It was just an atg playoff performance.

Yeah, there was a lot of flopping but this was not an example of one. Fast break, Giannis tried to makd an amazing block (done it a number of times before), hits Tatum across the arms as his momentum was already moving him in that direction.
Probably landed on his wrist and I'm sure that hurt from that speed. In fact Tatum doesn't flop much, which is why it shocked me when he tried it on Jrue's last shot....which basically gave him an open shot. If Tatum just stands there and puts his hands up that ending is different.

Ahh yes, that does actually look more like the shape of Tacko's face. Anyways, if a joke takes this long to figure out and it still isn't funny, then it's just a bad joke.

Thats selling a foul, not flopping. Thanks for clearing it up

Damn. Luka is not the hero we deserved...

I actually don't think he flopped on the Jrue one. I thought he lost his balance and fell over. It was the right no call or even a foul on Tatum (he grabbed Jrue's arm as he fell), but definitely not a charge.

Re: Anyone Else Tired Of Watching Doncic Hit The Floor Flopping?
The bigger problem IMO is you have to flop to get a call. I definitely remember Luka not drawing many fouls in game 3 despite the physicality and being called for soft fouls. Of course that's going to make you flop if it's rewarded.

Refs need to stop blowing the whistle.
CP3, Luka, Crowder, Payne, etc. they ALL flop.
The Suns are the kings of flopping. I think that’s a reason they may struggle in the Playoffs, when refs may stop blowing the whistle as much.

Annoying that he has to fling himself to the floor to get a call
If he just stands there and takes it they never call it
If anything us Mavs fans have been calling for him to flop more since the refs dictate that you have to

I am tired and I wish the refs protected every player by giving fouls and even flagrants when a guy gets thrown to the ground violently.

Unfortunately, he doesn't get calls when he doesn't flop. I know the haters will blatantly lie and say that he is always flopping, but that's just not true. We Mavs fans have been saying it for years that he has to fall down, because otherwise they just refuse to give him the calls, doesn't matter that he drives more than almost anyone in the NBA. Embiid is the best at this, and when it's the playoffs, you gotta do what you gotta do.
Well like it or not -- it is Luka's style. He has built his game around flopping and whining, so he is all in. So far, you can't really argue against this strategy. But I think it will tire and other teams and fans will get sick of it. Especially now that Brunson has started with the same crap.
