I mean what level are we even talking about here? All this talk about Maxey who is so great, what does he project to be since IQ will clearly never reach that and a lot of you seem DEAD set on that based on 6 career starts and limited minutes for a 2nd year 22 year old?

If we had a real front office next year would be about seeing if
* IQ can be a quality starting point guard, playing him 82 games as a starter.
* Can RJ Barrett progress to an average shooter at the SG position (unless he grows 2 inches and can play SF) so we can gauge his next contract with some accuracy.
* Can Obi Toppin be an average 3 point shooter at the 4 and improve his defensive ability to occasionally switch and stay.
* Can Cam Reddish not be injured and not be atrocious when he does play.
* I'm not super worried about Grimes being at least a replacement level NBA player because his shot is just great looking and he's engaged defensively, and is at least an average NBA athlete. I think seeing if he can be a defense bending off ball player running off pin downs would be a natural next step. That would require a coach who isn't a pale fossilized orc.
This all assumes a vet dump this Summer which is fantasy land.
