Noone in their right mind can believe any team would have stopped prime KD before injury plus Steph, Klay and Draymond. I remember everyone saying back then, the only team that can stop them are they themselves (beef between players).
They were pushed to game 7 with harden playing like absolute utter doggycheeks
thats fake news, harden was as good or better than any player during the 2018 playoffs..
check the 538 playoff raptor stats for the 2018 playoffs
Raptor sucks lol
Also using plus minus metrics as a main argument for a playoff run when my main argument is how bad he was in that one series, that really was the important series and only one that people thought they could lose, doesn’t make sense, especially if a team functions by just going 5 out Iso every play, then of course his impact is going to be high. Doesn’t mean the offense worked, and since the offense played at a bottom 5 rate it clearly didn’t.
It’s not enough to say “impact good”, you have to actually explain what happened, why was his impact good despite him shooting poorly in an offense completely designed around him scoring efficiently or allowing his teammates to (harden 5 out or bust). It’s perfectly reasonable to just say “low sample size and noise” when it comes to this, especially since the focus is on the Warriors series specifically
I remember spaceman said that it was something along the lines of them doing a 5 out offense and him missing a bunch in order to make it so they had energy to defend, which is absolutely absurd lol
People try to read into things too much, I get it’s important not to blindly look at box score stats and say ok bet, and it’s important to try to understand impact data sometimes, but in a situation like this sometimes you just have to say that their offensive system built around him failed, and he wasn’t doing well, and they would have done better if he was making shots at a normal rate. If you can’t explain how he offensively did well against the Warriors then there really isn’t a discussion here, if you have a reasonable one sure then mention it but don’t just say “lol raptor x2”
