Depending on your risk tolerance there are several options. You’d obviously consult the security team, NBAPA and other relevant experts. No definate need for a change but acting like it’s some pie in the sky impossibility is too much.

It's very horrible that someone tried to mess with CP3's family, but I think it's also pretty ridiculous that he even brought his family to an away game, after being blown out the previous game by 20, and after mocking (together with Booker) Luka's defense... Yea, generally as a society the goal is to weed out those people and make sure they don't feel safe behaving like they are, not blaming victims for the acts committed against them.

If you didn't dress this way. If you didn't go to that club. If you didn't drink so much, it can go on. Yes, we should make good decisions, but there are levels, saying players shouldn't have their family at away games because opposing fans might physically touch them, that's not an option. It should be clear to anyone coming that you shouldn't do that, and Dallas will likely respond to this in a way that makes that clear.

What if someone threw a bottle on CP3's kidd (I'm not sure he had a kidd there)? And what if the bottle would break? And the kidd would bleed from his head? Do you think his wife wouldn't blame CP3 for that? For his entire life? Sure, some terrible being threw that bottle, but CP3 didn't had to put his family in this position.

That play didn't get talked about enough, because everyone focussed on Ayton. What Crowder did should be a flagrant, should it not? He litterally threw Luka violently on the ground. I'm not sure why no one reacted to that and acted like it didn't happen. It's weird.

Even Ayton does a side bump into Luka that negates the idea that this should be an offensive foul.
