I never get my panties in a bunch about carrying because if you played ball growing up, you know that it starts at a young age. It helps because you grow up knowing how to play against players who carry too. Makes you a more versatile defender, imo.

it really sucks but until they start calling carries like this regularly, it's part of the game and a normal play. imo this is a case of don't hate the player, hate the game.

Pretty much every player does. Technically you aren't supposed to put your hand under the ball and rotate it into the dribble

The rule is
"A player who is dribbling may not put any part of his hand under the ball and (1) carry it from one point to another or (2) bring it to a pause and then continue to dribble again."
Clearly indicating that putting the hand under the ball is within the rules if you don't stop your dribble.
