Media made this seem a lot closer than it was. No-doubter. It was Jokic all along.

Looks like Joel Embiid will never win a MVP after this robbery.

Lol this is truly sad that you’re not making this a race thing

But just to entertain your purely sad take, how about Masai Ujiri? One of the greatest execs in the league (who is black btw). He didn’t need to be a former NBA player to know what he’s doing

I stated a fact. I'm sorry that facts are inconvenient for you, and race issues are inconvenient for you.

The latter part of your post is literally an opinion unless you have 30 owners on record for stating “We prefer college educated white coaches”. If you don’t have that, then it’s an opinion.

What is it with this board and talking about race? It's not taboo. Time to get comfortable with the discussion. I'm sorry if you feel insecure about it, but are we going to act like race never plays a role in the NBA?

Wait, when did this become about race?

So teams and media have zero problems drafting black players (e.g. Jokic being drafted after 30+ black players), but when it comes to voting for the MVP, they just become racists  By the same logic, maybe you could even argue the former players think Embiid was the MVP because he's black like they are. See how stupid that sounds?

So you think Shaq and/or Kobe could have taken a team with Will Barton and Aaron Gordon as their next best options to the 2nd round?

Umm...yes? Kobe took a starting lineup consistenting of Kwame freaking Brown, Smush Parker, Luke Walton, and an inconsistent injury prone Lamar Odom to the playoffs for two straight seasons. He would have KILLED to have those two guys for support.

Shaq is tough to say because we've never seen him on a team with legitimately a scrub team otherwise. He's always had someone like Anthony Hardaway, Kobe, Wade, Nash/Amare, etc.

Kobe deserves credit but Lamar Odom was way better as a player than anyone Jokic had this year in Denver.

You stated a fact that is irrelevant to your argument

I responded to your initial post. If you have a problem with it, then you shouldn't have written what you said. You expect people not to respond to that?

And to respond to this one, yes Masai is awesome at his job, and he's black. Thanks for proving my point. The NBA needs more execs like him. I didn't say all coaches need to be former players. I said that more coaches need to better represent the demographics of the large majority of the NBA community.

I don’t see how you feel this is relevant to the MVP conversation

You went from using Antoine Walker’s opinion as an argument as to how Embiid should’ve been MVP cause he’s a former player. Then when I brought up the fact that many of the coaches and GMs aren’t former players, you brought the race card. As if former black players haven’t become coaches and execs as well. What matters is knowing the game well and Antoine Walker isn’t one of those kinds of guys

Do you really fail to see where you went wrong?

Yes, it would be great to have more black and POC in coaching and exec positions. But that has nothing to do with the fact that Antoine Walker isn’t a great basketball mind

Long time coming, that is not how the league historically has been. They have made a concerted effort to shift this. Remember how upset former players got when Minnesota hired someone who wasn't black? How many head execs are black?

Definitely not half.

People who talk **** about Jokic being only regular season player for sure just experienced their first NBA season. Why don’t they ask dad to explain them this nice tweet:

Stats aren't an opinion.

Stats that overvalue production at the center position, definitely seem to have a bias, which inherently makes it subjective and opinion based. Whoever designed, did a pretty **** job with it.

I don't get what your problem really is.
They all won around 50 games.
That means that stats would make the difference, since they all did the same in terms of winning.
Team record and stats. You can't decide based on something else.
Jokic had better stats. What's the problem?

Nobody has a problem discussing race but you brought it out of nowhere in an irrelevant manner.

We were talking about how there are GMs and coaches in the league who aren’t former players to show the fact that you don’t need to be a former player like Antoine Walker to understand basketball

You just pulled the race argument out of nowhere

If you want to stop discussing it, stop bringing up things that inherently will involve race dude. This is not hard.

Why do you think Antoine Walker doesn't know the game well? Seriously curious. Is it because of the way he talks? Is it because he took ill advised shots? Walker was ahead of his time in chucking 3s. Now it's the bread and butter of 95% of the leagues offense. He would fit perfectly in today's league.

I thought I did lol

Nah I’m past the hate thing. Gonna try to be more objective henceforth with Giannis and his game. But that doesn’t mean I won’t call out a bad take when I see it lol

Hey remember when all those racists voted for Giannis, Harden, Westbrook, Steph, Durant, LeBron, Rose, and Kobe as the MVP before showing their true colors?
