So this is definitely a league wide problem but the rest of the league doesn't bitch at the clip Luka does. Thats what makes it extra annoying.

Imagine complaining about another player flopping when Chris Paul is in the series.

You can call me a hater and it’s probably accurate but I’m not irrational. I gave you my reasons. Luka is a huge whiner and it makes him unlikeable. He comes across as an entitled jerk. I also confess I don’t like his style of play which is very ball dominant (don’t like Harden for the same reason but don’t hate him as much because he’s not even close to the same level of whiner). People are allowed to hate and like players for whatever reasons they want and it is almost never irrational.

They are allowed to hate, RGM is filled with Haters of all sorts of players, but a rational person who watches Luka enough to hate him, should also know he isn't a flopper

Hilarious. I mean, other than the hundreds of flops over his NBA career, he isn't a flopper.

As a Celtics fan I can tell you that Tatum definitely has his games where he complains as much as Luka. It's just not as often. It's something Udoka has been working on with the team because it's been a problem - complaining too much instead of getting back on D, and giving up easy transition points as a result

Sure, but the vast majority of calls are embellishing contact. The simulating contact ones are so few and far between.

I've found a video to use as a fun exercise... who fouled who here, who flopped, and who embellished?

Does anyone wanna give it a go? :P

Flopping accusations from current playoff opponent fans or recently disposed of playoff opponent fans rings pretty pretty hollow if I'm honest. Especially since the Venn Diagram between those posters complaining about Luka flopping is a direct overlap with those posters saying their team would win every game if not for those pesky cheating refs.....

Luka was very open after game 4 that he embellished, flopped if you prefer. We also see play after play where he gets hit with no calls while attempting to play through contact. Refs are basically telling him to get calls you need to hit the ground and even then when Ayton bumps him and Crowder throws him to the ground with force he doesn't always get the call.

If you are angry, be angry at the refs. And if you hate Luka hitting the court, watching Devin Booker do his best Merton Hanks on literally every drive to the basket has to drive you crazy, but oddly no thread on this.

Flopping is an issue. Luka is guilty. But this thread is sad.

Do we though? I mean, more than other guys? Because whenever they show replay on those, yeah, there is some contact and sometimes he initiates it, but this happens with literally every player who drives. The problem with Luka is that "boy who cries wolf" syndrome where he glares at the refs after every single play and it becomes hard to tell what's a foul and what's fiction. Booker does it too where he seems to express a lot of contact on his many drives and it's not obvious whether these uncalled "fouls" are embellished or the norm in the NBA.. but at least he's not so vocal about it with the refs (which I admit is my primary issue with guys like Luka and Draymond).

What we have to realize is that NBA games would take five hours if they called them by the book and refs have to let contact go. I believe the issue that most people have is consistency, which is why yesterday's game was such an atrocity. And I'm sure Mavs' fans can find examples where the opposite is true.

Oh if the thread is about complaining to the officials, let me join in the chorus. I don't watch every NBA game, but if there was a player worse than Luka in that regard, I'd be stunned. He's ridiculous. He's been better in the playoffs, but still not great. But in the RS he's way out of control.

On flopping? Yeah he's definitely not the most guilty and like all bigger players(Shaq and Lebron come immediately to mind) refs let a lot of physical stuff go they don't against a smaller guy where you clearly see their body get moved. So if he has to fall down to get a call he deserves, I say fall down Luka. Again this is a ref issue not a Luka one.

And yeah I'm fine if the refs want to have a tight whistle. Prefer it even. But if Booker gets calls for turning into a bobblehead then Luka should get calls where he is clearly fouled and not just giving himself whiplash like Booker is.

I could name at least two guys on the Suns that complain more than Luka. Chris Paul and JaVale McGee.

MORE than Luka? Not a chance. Seems like you are a prisoner of the moment right now with Suns vs Mavericks.

The constant complaining to the refs is much more off-putting to me. Every player flops. It's a reality of the league. But the constant complaining after almost every time he misses a basket just reeks of entitlement.

Hell, even as a Bucks fan I get irritated watching Middleton flop. It gets annoying...nobody can play defense anymore. Nobody wants to block a shot, just take a charge. Most players are looking to create a foul instead of making a shot.

Case in point...yesterday Jaylen Brown blew by Jrue. Jrue was behind him, he had a free shot.....instead he backed up into Jrue and flopped. If he just goes straight up, it's an easy two points. Too much flopping on both ends of the court.

This is absolutely not the player's fault. It falls completely on the refs and the competition committee that governs them.

At this point we now official have a ref caught on camera admitting that "if players don't fall over (flop) we don't give them the call" so what do you expect the players to do?

We have referees openly admitting to having bias towards floppers. Players have no doubt known this for a long time. If your goal is to win basketball games, why would you not flop if it gives you a distinct competitive advantage and favorable treatment from the officials?

But in the situation I presented, it didn't give them any advantage. In fact, since the ref didn't call it....Brown went from a wide open jumper to missing a shot trying to create contact by the defender who was behind him.

Sixers won last night because Harden actually attacked the hoop and was looking to make shots instead of looking to create contact in hopes of getting to the hoop. I am not even a Harden fan and I found myself enjoying his game on Sunday. If he played like that more often I would be a Harden fan, but he misses more shots by jumping into players looking for a call. Some refs call it and at that point I blame him and the refs.

    this and nothing else.
it annoys me so much that nearly all of the so called stars turn into cry babies when they miss. so when they really got murdered no one believes that and people like the non call.

Doncic needs an attitude adjustment, it's pretty annoying to see him acting out like a child clapping and smirking at the refs when they fail to call a foul for him.

When they fail to call the fouls he starts flailing and flopping till he gets the desired calls. I guess Kidd reigned him in some but he's still pretty bad.
