The Sixers just went from death-warmed-over against Miami to having seized the momentum of the series - simply by having Embiid back on the floor. The guy is obviously not 100% - playing with a torn thumb, a fractured face and a Phantom of the Opera mask - but his impact on the series is the literal DEFINITION of "most valuable player".

Impacting games IN MAY. Not November. Not February. MAY.

This thread reminded me why I took a break from the GB recently. Have fun, guys.

Ok I will bite. Take Jokic out of the Denver Warrior series how much do they lose by?

As a Toronto fan I am sure you have to do that on your board all the time.

What is this even supposed to mean lmfao

If you can’t understand that then the chances of us having an intelligent discussion are nil. Enjoy your bliss.

Or you can elaborate what you meant. Saying something so random and expecting people to understand what you meant and then claiming the other person can’t have an intelligent discussion is pathetic

The point is that they only consider the regular season NOW. The point is also that they should consider the post season too in the future.

That's pretty bad for a guy who is supposed to be clearly the best player in the game.

Damn, I forgot the Semifinals were in the 1st round last year. Thanks for correcting us - here I thought they advanced to the same stage as the Sixers last year (2nd round).

Wait a minute...

How many times has one of these folks let it slip they they are under the mistaken impression that Denver lost in the first round last year? Seems to be a bit of a recurring theme at this point.

What does being a Raptors fan have anything to do with understanding the difference between regular season awards and playoff awards? It’s not like the Raptors haven’t had several regular season awards and a championship over the course of the past few years.

Shhh don’t tell them the facts. They only want the fabricated stats from Sixers blog posts

I think we can all agree that a couple more regular season wins is far more important than any post season success. /green font

A regular season award is based on the regular season. How would you reward players for playoff wins in a regular season award that is voted on before the playoffs start?

Should Hakeem have won the regular season MVP award over David Robinson in 1995 when the Spurs won 62 games and the Rockets won 47 games?

And if you want to talk about postseason success, Jokic has led his team to the conference finals, something that Embiid has never done.

Not sure if I understood this right, but the way i took it, he called entire Raptor fan base dumb, and then he said if you cant acknowledge that you are dumb how can you have intelligent conversation? Oxymoron? I could be wrong, but thats how I read that lol.

He literally said a stupid statement with absolutely no context and then goes at the intelligence of others for failing to comprehend the garbage he spewed. I’m still lost on what he was trying to say

Let me see:
- Jokic has better advanced numbers: "but they suck and are for nerds"
- Jokic has better raw numbers: *silence*
- Jokic had more wins: "but Embiid had a better seed"
- Jokic has had more playoff success: "but Embiid is currently in round 2"
- Jokic was missing the 2nd and 3rd best player on his team: "Simmons was missing for half the season"

What is the argument for Embiid from Embiid supporters? That your eye test tells you he's the better player? If so, the majority of us will tell you our eye test tells us Giannis is better than both of them. What argument do you have for Embiid as the unanimous MVP you somehow believe he deserves over Jokic and Giannis?

I get that...just confused with the swept thing since that didn't happen. Can't tell if it's a parody of the people who keep making up that jokic lost in the first round last year...which didn't happen either.

Last year the Nuggets beat the Trailblazers in the first round 4-2.

This year Jokic averaged 31, 13, and 6 on 64.3 TS% with a 32.8 PER in the playoffs.

I think that Jokic is the MVP but Giannis is the best player in the league.
