Value of Andrew Wiggins exp
What is the value of Wiggins exp.
GS needs a reserve C and PG.
I think Wiggins for NY Fournier, Kemba, Taj Gibson is about right.

Are the Warriors willing to take on multi-year bad contracts?
I’m trying to judge the value of the “expiring” part of the description.
I know he’s not going to produce $33.6 mil of production.

I think the warriors would since they are in contention.
They may be losing depth and have to pay Poole 20 mil plus

His salary is still too large for his improved production, but what about something like:
Fultz, WCJ for Wiggins, Wiseman, 1st?
Fultz, WCJ for Wiggins, Wiseman, 1st?

1. Is Golden State taking on future salary (2023-24) or does it need strictly expiring coming back? If Golden State is willing to take on future salary, what is the limit/ceiling on the future salary?
2. There are a limited number of teams that have cap space to absorb the so much salary in a trade for Wiggins, so in most instances there will be some extra baggage being sent out in a trade for Wiggins. Is Golden State willing to absorb that extra baggage or does it need to be redirected to a third or possibly even a fourth team because of the Luxury Tax burden for Golden State? If a third or even a fourth team is brought into the trade to absorb salary, is Golden State going to pay any associated costs or is the team receiving Wiggins going to have to pay those costs?
3. Sending out Wiggins is going to make Golden State thin on depth in the Full Size Wing Department. Does a Full Size Wing also need to be coming back as part of the Wiggins trade or will the Warriors handle that on their own?
$33,616,770 (Wiggins)
$33,616,770.00 - $100,000 = $33,516,770
$33,516,770 / 1.25 = $26,813,416
Proof
$26,813,416 * 1.25 = $33,516,770
$33,516,770 + $100,000 = $33,616,770

I don't think GS would be trading Wiseman when his value is down. Fultz is like a lessor Poole combo guard.
Value is close and WCJ is solid C.
I wish the rumored WCJ and #4 pick deal with Chi came into fruition.

I think Kuminga and Moody will be continue to develop and GS always seems to find G league guys for the end of the bench like Juan Toscano Anderson so I think the wing position can lose a Wiggins whose value IMO was maximized.

Re: Value of Andrew Wiggins exp
If Warriors take any non expiring contract for Wiggins, Warriors will pay 200-300 mils luxury tax in 2013-2014. Curry, Green, Klay will take 122.7 mils, and Poole will probably get like 25 mils extension. Kuminga, Wiseman, and Moody will take another 22 mils. So, those 7 players will take 170 mils. If we get additional 20 mils from Wiggin's trade, that will likely shoot up Warriors' luxury tax to 200+ mils. In two years, I doubt Warriors will be a contender, and they will be ready for the next chapter. Asking them to pay 200+ luxury tax in a rebuilding year would be unrealistic. Chances are, Warriors will try their best till next season, let Wiggins walk, and use his salary to resign Poole. And considering how well Wiggins played in this PO, I doubt they will trade him to bolster other positions. Most likely, they will hit the bargain bin.

Re: Value of Andrew Wiggins exp
GS can take on some salary, but not matching Wiggins current deal long-term. They'd want to avoid any multi-year bad money in a deal. A rotation player making $5-15M/yr and worth their contract would be fine. If Wiseman is added (IMO more plausible then many other Warrior fans think) then they can have $15-25M in multi-year contract(s). It's possible they could take back more but I'm assuming that Poole will be pretty expensive to resign and that they don't want to go much deeper into the luxury tax then they already are. Of course there could (and likely would) also have some 1-year overpaid contract(s) in the deal.
I'd also say that a bigger center option (at least bigger than Looney) and a SF are the most in-demand positions.
I don't see PG as a need. They've got Curry and Poole to cover all the PG minutes when healthy. They'll want a 3rd string option but that's a min salary (or not much more) role. SF is a clear need with Wiggins moving out. Iggy's effectively retired even if he's resigned. Porter probably leaves for a team that can pay more than GS. Kunminga's a PF/C for GS. Hopefully Moody can step into some SG/SF minutes next year but that's not a sure thing. They really need another playable rotation SF.
A good, bigger center option would presumably be the main point of the deal. Otherwise they could just keep Wiggins as the SF for next season. Then if he's too expensive to resign they could replace him with the best MLE option they can find to afford Poole in 2023-4.

Re: Value of Andrew Wiggins exp
I think Wiggins is a keeper at this point for Golden State. Obviously he is not worth 33 mil, but he could be a bargain in his next deal. I don’t see any team throwing 20 mil at him in 2023 which means that Warriors could bring him back with just above MLE money.

Re: Value of Andrew Wiggins exp
Covington just signed 12 million contract and you think that the most athletic wing in the league will sign with less than double of that?
Wait till the playoffs end.
Don't be surprised, if Warriors win the title, that Wiggins will sign another max, with them or with another team.
I don't expect something less than 25 million per year anyway.

I have doubts that the Golden State ownership wants to pay the luxury taxes on all of that especially if Poole is also going to be making $25 million per year.

expirings dont see to hold much value these days. Orlando would have used Harris's expiring if so

There is no realistic or sensible reason Orlando does this.

I really don't see GS shipping out it's young players.

Re: Value of Andrew Wiggins exp
The “value” of an expiring is directly proportional to your willingness to take back long term money, which I don’t see the Warriors being too keen on. Most likely the plan is to try and re-sign Wiggins at a lower number or S&T him somewhere for a decent role player or two and some salary relief next off-season.

Me neither but this saves a buck and brings in solid vets at positions of need.
I will say I would not hate Mitchell with the Poole-Curry-Klay guard platoon. He would fit with all three.

Sadly at the moment due to injury Klay is the weak link in that GS trio especially since he has to guard the bigger SFs
