More playing time in NY vs. being behind Ja Morant who soaks up minutes... also, Tyus is played for Thibs in the past...

Lastly... Mem may not be able to allocate the cap to him given their big contracts.

why leave memphis though? would you leave that org for the knicks? hell im seriously considering rooting for memphis(my girls from there.

Yes... if NYK provided more money and more playing time... I think many players would take that. 50/50.

Why is this even a discussion? I would kick my own ass if Tyus Jones is starting for the Knicks next season.

whats the point of drafting players if you dont develop them

McBride killed the G-League, he deserves minutes

IQ had a triple double last game. We arent a championship team

If we could shed Randle, getting Tyus Jones in here to lead the youth brigade would be wise because he would make our defense at the point of attack much better and he'd get our young guys in better spots to succeed offensively.

Jones, Grimes, RJ, Obi, Mitch (or Sims) with IQ as your 6th man is a solid youth movement full of young guys who can get better together. Jones would get you 15pts/6ast/4reb/2stl on high efficiency & defense and still under 27.

Why would McBride deserve minutes? G league has proven to be an unreliable barometer for NBA performance.

Not that I am against him playing, especially if we once again are out of the playoff picture. Just saying he far from deserves any minutes.

I also don't see us needing to sign Tyus. Rose, IQ can man that PG spot, and Burks fills in for Rose being hurt.

Once we are proven to be a bad team Rose/Burks should lose minutes to McBride, not holding my breath on that though.

That might not be a good thing!

Thibodeau then signed Jeff Teague and we know how Thibodeau loves his vets and doesn't have any patience for young players.

Deuce deserved minutes. He had one of the best ratings on the team

Good old T Beer. Let's ignore that McBride was the worst shooter in the NBA since Ntilikina.

Immanuel Quickley? Derrick Rose? Come on, man. Don't do this. We shouldn't overpay for this guy.

Tyus smart enough to realize that he's becoming more age appropriate for Thibs.

He just turned 26. He's probably better off signing with the Grizz for 4 more years, and if Thibs is still coach in 2026 he can sign with the Knicks, as he'll be the age where Thibs trusts players.

No way! Let's have him join us during his Kemba Walker years, so we can play him when he can't contribute on D, and can't play more than 5 minutes a game in his starting role. That's how we roll!

If a 2nd round pick like Jalen Bruson could be counted on because he can be an offensive hub, then Deuce McBride can be that for defense. It's Thibs' rigidness against young players like him is holding him back.

Because we are a bad team and not a playoff or championship caliber. Playing a 21 yr old that played well in college and G-League is better than playing 30 yr old Burks

He shot poorly but still had a great net rating. That and the eye test tells me he was doing other things like play great defense and move the ball thus deserving of minutes on this team. Knicks need players like that. His shooting needs to improve and certainly can. It actually did since he shot 36% from 3 the last 11 games.

Even still…if the dude shoots poorly but the Knicks outscore there opponents by a large margin isn’t that all that matters? All small samples sizes. That’s all the point though to give him and other young players more rope and minutes to see what they can do and see if they can get better.

Only Knicks fans want to deny our own pick the opportunity to start in favor of a 7 year player who's still a backup. I don't care if you think Tyus would be the best starting PG on this team, just realize Quickly would be considered a SUPER SUB on that same Grizzlies team. Then we'd be looking to give Quickly 18-20mil to start for us because he reminds us of a poor man's Ja Morant. Because that's how goofy we get. Context for f*ck's sake.
