Embiid has had 3 games this playoff alone that would qualify as Jokic's worst playoff games of his career.

ANGRY EMBIID GONNA SHOW UP TONIGHT, MAYBE NOT TO THE GAME, BUT HE'LL SHOW UP!

Why are you pulling the bar so high for him comparing him to Jokic in POs. After all he did shoot above 50% from the field which is great achievement by his own standards.

Neither Jokic or Embiid would be in the same tier as the best 90s centres if matched up against them.

Jokic would get eaten by the best defensive bigs and wouldn't be able to score a point down low.

Same with Embiid, Mr fadeaway and release below his head.

Jokic's stats are making him look better than he is as well.

You all said the same things about Harden and Westbrook during their MVP candidate runs.

A few more years of no playoff success and Jokic will join those two as stat guys only.

These two years gotta be the most boring mvp post season award.
Most ppl are over it and focused on the playoffs which he is not part of.

Could it be because the second best player on his team hasn't played for two straight seasons now?

KD couldn't even win one playoff game this year with Kyrie, while Jokic took one off the Warriors with Aaron Gordon as his second best player.

Really? Making statements like that really undermines the point you are trying to. Jokic wouldn't score a point down low? If you didn't go to such stupid extremes maybe you would have a point. But making such a dumb extreme no one would take you seriously. This is coming from a guy who loves 80s and 90s basketball. Greg freaking Ostertag averaged 7 pts a game in a season. Greg Ostertag! and you think Jokic wouldn't score a point downlow.

You make assumptions and run with them.
I also never made a statement about all analytics but you ran on your own tangent with that too as if I did.

Why do you repeatedly feel the need to make insults and snide remarks while stating your opinions? It's sophomoric but you've been a member here long enough for me to know you aren't a teenager. You don't have to act like it but I don't care to converse with you anymore if that's the way want to conduct yourself.

Sorry man, I just hate ignorance towards science. I am not acting that basketball analytics is 100% figured out by human mathmaticians by now, but your example of why its wrong or stupid is simply very weak and comes from pure ignorance. Just like every advance analytics, it has layers, if you knew that, you would realize how week Morreys argument was and wasnt good example of analytics. He just compared stats by players playing 25 years apart, without context or any statistical inflation over time, which I am pretty sure basketball analytics have by now. Or maybe it doesn't it, because it doesnt have real practical use, front offices who analyze opponents probably arent occupied with analyzing was player who retired 20 years ago was that great.

It's a reg season award. Besides, Jokic won more games than Giannis and Embiid.

Jokic would dominate and win MVPs in the 90s too

kinda feel embid threw the BIll Simmons quote in there to basically say "i lost cause dudes like this are voting"

other point id like to speak on is playoff performance, the embid fans have brought this up but i feel that makes the case for Giannis .

The Thing is. Embiid isnt even #2 deserving of the MVP this season. Its either Jokic or Giannis. Because everything, Embiid Fans say, that Joel has above Jokic, Giannis has above Embiid lol

Pop compared Jokic to Larry Bird on several occasions and I'd say Pop knows a thing or two. And that Larry guy did alright I think.

Well, in a league where Giannis would come off the bench is not unreasonable to think Jokic wouldn't score inside.

Show me a quote where a coach has said a player is a bad player?

This poster on a website called Westbrook an empty stats loser when he was winning MVP and 99% of you flamed me back then.

The same posters who now say Westbrook is useless and was apparently always overrated...

Let's remember this thread in 5 years time when Jokic hasn't won jack.

Somehow I don't think we are going to see Jokic being tossed from team to team while being one of the worst contracts out there. If he can't play, he's just going to retire.

He should. He's a better player than Embid. Much more versatile.

Embiid and Jokic are both all-time elite players who would be absolute monsters in any era.
