And to me these type of statements are either just disingenuous stuff to slander Tucker further to make people feel better about "their decision" or like a complete bastardization of how basketball games are played. I haven't seen you pop up too often to know really where you stand but the usual suspects it's pretty easy to paint the picture. The same people saying stuff like this from one side of their mouth are out here praising (rightfully) a guy like Wes Matthews for his "6 points a game" this series. Grant Williams is out here impacting games scoring 9 points and playing on 5 fouls half the game. They bitch about how Brook can't play defense in the league or how Bobby is stinking it up and then completely write off how Tucker helped us to play small in basically an entire series last year where Brook and Bobby got played off the floor.

We won a game this series already on a coin flip. We lost a game on epic collapse where one made bucket or a defensive stop could have quenched the flames. The idea that having an extra NBA playoff rotation guy changes nothing in times like these is absolutely bonkers.

Portis and Allen are consistently bad defensively when they don't do much offensively they are close to useless

I am particularly disappointed with Portis who does not shoot his open 3s but he is afraid of their closeouts

Jrue is good defensively but he is far from a floor general and usually not efficient in the playoffs

I don’t know why you’re getting so worked up about this. All I’m simply saying is we’ll never know because we didn’t re-sign him. For the record I think we should have kept him. Would this series be anything other than 2-2 if Tucker had been playing for us? I don’t think so.

I think he’d absolutely help us in this series if not for anything other than he’d at least be able to hold up out there defensively in place of Grayson who is giving us nothing.

I don’t think the D has been the problem though. By and large it has been really good but the Celts went 16/19 in that last quarter. The D could’ve been better but they also just got insanely hot and rode it home.

It’s offence where we’re losing out in these games to the Celts. PJ isn’t making us better on this end of the floor. That’s just my opinion

Portis is a headscratcher. He's never been shy about shooting and now he seems hesitant. Weird.

Well we're due for a good shooting night

It's a dogfight, Boston's defense is legit and they have a few guys namely Horford who are playing out of their minds. Horford looks and is moving around better than I remember him even at Florida, I know it's our defense to give up these wide open shots but Bud needs to stop disrespecting the guy not guarding him at all.

idk anymore just go with what works and ride the hot hand, less ball pounding iso ball with Giannis/Jrue and more ball movement. Issue is we turn it over like crazy tho.

hit our shots, guard their shots, ****

If there is one guy I don’t want to leave open it’s Horford. It’s FVV all over, when wide open, he’s hitting it and he doesn’t hesitate at all. I’d rather leave anyone else open.

The last 5 quarters of basketball have zapped any confidence I had.

Go Bucks.

The Celtics were playing elite defense prior to the Bucks series. I just don't see the Bucks having a good shooting game against Boston.
We're not shooting well because they are defending well. Plus we're missing an excellent shooter.

The Celtics defense is not going to change. So if we're going to win tonight, it has to be the defense that steps up. The defense was horrific in the fourth quarter.

Bud needs to play the Celtics straight up, like they do us. No open shooters. Respect them all and hope the Bucks individual defenders do their job.

We've had our backs against the walls many times. We've went into BKN and won, PHX and won, albeit a bit diff (we had Khash), we can win on the road. All signs point to us losing, we have no momentum, therefore in true Bucks fashion we will win tonight. Let's go.

I’d rather switch everything & force it to be an ISO-fest, than allow Horford to pop out for wide open 3s repeatedly.

Run him off the damn line.

Even if we continue with the drop, I’d rather Brook close out to him & have him put the ball on the floor to make an extra decision.

Offense is already hard as hell to come by for us — but allowing them to have a high percentage shot down the stretch is screwing us over.

When the games are close, it makes the problem that much worse.

Has Khris already been ruled out for tonight?

Yes. He isn't even practicing yet. Just some shooting with light contact.

Yup. The series has pretty much looked as I thought it would. The lone exception being Al f***ing Horford dominating games. We just need one above average shooting night to offset that ridiculousness. Might as well do it in game five.

Agreed with you guys. Which boggles my mind that some on this forum think you can just continue to leave Horford so open and shouldn't plan against him a little bit, because "That's what Boston wants". Don't act surprised if we get knocked out from a dude catching fire, just like our other playoff losses in the past under Bud. FVV being one example, pretty sure Rozier killed us one year? It's always who you least expect and then Bud doesn't make a change quick enough. You don't need to double Horford but you need to show SOME resistance.

Bucks defense is better with Portis on than off, has been all year. When used correctly, he's a good defender.

Up 10 or so, Bud got lazy and we didn't adjust to their small ball lineup. We won last year because Bud actually decided to draw up some plays.

Anyway, I feel to win, we gotta ride Brook when Giannis is resting. Giannis needs a few minutes at the start of the 4th. It's a luxury for Boston to ride Horford before Tatum takes over. Wish we had Khris.

In the midst of all this angst and all the arguing about why the Bucks haven't looked good this series, I think we really need to get back to the most important issue: PJ Tucker.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
