Jokic would get eaten by the best defensive bigs and wouldn't be able to score a point down low.

Same with Embiid, Mr fadeaway and release below his head.

Jokic's stats are making him look better than he is as well.

You all said the same things about Harden and Westbrook during their MVP candidate runs.

A few more years of no playoff success and Jokic will join those two as stat guys only.

Jokic would definitely get buckets on the dude in your avatar. Also if Jokic hasn't had playoff success than neither did Robinson lol, until they drafted a better player.

I'm no Embiid fan but kudos to him for his comments on Jokic winning. Very gracious. His teammate should be taking pointers although he's not likely to ever be in that position again

I hope Jokic wins the next 10 MVPs so we can be done with the award

Jokic even made Juancho relevant in the league, helped him to land that movie role

Really? Making statements like that really undermines the point you are trying to. Jokic wouldn't score a point down low? If you didn't go to such stupid extremes maybe you would have a point. But making such a dumb extreme no one would take you seriously. This is coming from a guy who loves 80s and 90s basketball. Greg freaking Ostertag averaged 7 pts a game in a season. Greg Ostertag! and you think Jokic wouldn't score a point downlow.

Arvydas Sabonis averaged 12 and 8 with broken limps, what makes a player like Jokic (I'm starting to think he has better vision and scoring ability than Sabonis) can't do anything? The man can score on all three levels and he won't have to worry about being hunted on pick and rolls by guard every other play. He would eat even more.

Yes the guy that just averaged 27 points on 66 TS% wouldn't be able to score in another decade...

The guy that is elite from the mid range, elite in the low post with countless moves with both hands and a mid 30s 3pt shooter wouldn't be able to score...

Not even mentioning the fact that the game has progressed in the 30 years. But guys like Jokic and Embiid would be elite players no matter the decade. The truly elite players would be elite no matter the decade. And Jokic and Embiid are truly elite players.

Michael Jordan through age 27, Playoffs, before they built a Dynasty around him:

-Playoffs (53 games)
-Team Record: 24-29
-Team Series Record: 5-6
-3 first round exits, including 2 first round sweeps
-Two ECF

Jordan's line: 36.2/6.9/6.7 on +4.7% rTS. Led all players those years in all advanced and traditional metrics in the playoffs.

Nikola Jokic through age 26, Playoffs:

-Playoffs: (48 games)
-Team Record: 21-27
-Team Series Record: 4-4
-0 first round exits
-1 WCF

Jokic's line: 26.4/11.5/6.4 on +4.1 rTS%. Top 3 player in all advanced and traditional metrics in the playoffs.

Wilt Chamberlain through age 28, Playoffs:

-Playoffs: (47 games)
-Team Record: 21-26
-Team Series Record: 4-5
-Much shorter playoffs structure, so they're incompatible. Still:

Wilt's line: 33.4/26.0/3.2 on +4.7 tTS%. Clearly the MVP in the playoffs in all advanced and traditional metrics.

What did Michael Jordan win before they built a Superteam around him, while also bringing in the greatest coach of all time?

What did Wilt win, while he had coaches (that got fired every year or so) 1960-1965? What did he win before he got great coaches, teammates, ownership, management around him?

Or maybe, just maybe, it's not how great YOU are, but how great your teammates, coaches, management, ownership are?

That gave me the opportunity to watch teams and players more often than when they played the Warriors. First game I watched was Denver and Jokic. I never realized how skilled he was. There's no doubt in my mind that he deserved MVP. Anybody saying he doesn't is being biased. It's a regular season award. Not playoff MVP. It's not his fault his team is injured. I say look out next year when he gets to play with his full squad. The guy is a beast!

No kidding!! At least 6 of the top 10 players in the NBA today are international (non Americans). Jokic, Embiid, Simmons, Giannis, Doncic, Gobert, etc. wouldn't have even been playing in the NBA in the 80's and 90's!!

The league hasn't expanded and weakened in 20 years.

This is the deepest, toughest league ever. And, the hardest to dominate.

Congrats to Jokic. Probably THE greatest 2 year run in NBA history, INCLUDING the playoffs: 161 games: 27.0/12.3/7.8 on +8.0 rTS. While only playing 34 MPG.

Incredibly deserving of back to back MVPs.

It's almost like you can make money --- nay, a career --- out of being an insincere contrarian. Hmm, on ESPN of all venues, who would have thought?

Absolutely hilarious video and not unexpected at all.

Also for the no player thinks Jokic is MVP crowd:

This is the most Jokic thing I've ever seen. Always read/heard about how he just goes back to his home country to chill and relax in the offseason and this is pretty much exactly what I had imagined

I love this so much
