I feel the only people Jokic has a bit more trouble against are people that are bulky too, but even then trouble is really relative

He absolute cooked Gobert and AD lol

Ayton gives him a lot of problems and he isn't bulky. IIRC Nikola even said he causes him the most issues

Jokic wouldve had a really rough time with Hakeem, Admiral, Thurmond, Wilt.... Those hyper athletic nimble and strong centers but you must be really **** good if you have to go to that level to find a matchup problem. Sheed and Timmy wouldve been hard matchups too

I think Ayton is pretty bulky compared to Gobert & AD, and think that Thurmond basically represents the ideal to try to stop him from going downhill - like he represents the ideal to stop big men interior scoring in general.

Wilt's in that category too, not all that sure about Hakeem & Robinson. With Robinson I think we saw how he could be bullied on both sides of the ball by someone like Karl Malone. You can argue Jokic couldn't do it like Malone, but Robinson is not my ideal for a super-strong big man.

Hakeem is prolly the one center you can say might have as good hands as Jokic. He was as effective as Thurmond in man without same freakish strength but alot of players talked about how strong he was physically

Jokic is def more finesse than Karl. He isn't as physical on the block since he's a far better shooter with touch. Robinson is bigger than Ayton and his body was getting compared to his in the draft too. Ayton wouldnt have done well against Karl either I mean we saw him get bullied worse than Robinson ever did by Karl against Giannis just last year

1. Certainly I hold Hakeem and his coordination in particularly high esteem, but even when Hakeem was leading his team to a sweep of Shaq's, Shaq got his numbers. This wasn't a Thurmond-Kareem situation.

2. Jokic more finesse than Karl. I'd say he's more skilled from all parts of the courts and way smarter, and all of that reduces his brute force tactics to a back-up plan, but that's not the same as truly being a finesse player in the same way Robinson was.

3. Robinson bigger than Ayton. He's taller but I don't think he's as thick. Feel free to disagree, or even to post pics. I realize that Ayton was talked about a certain way leading up to the draft, but I think he's surprised us with some of the stuff his body can handle. I'd still consider Robinson the vastly superior overall prospect, but I think Ayton's tougher.

4. Ayton got owned by Giannis through Giannis' movement and explosion not by grind it out post-moves.

Congrats to jokic, well deserved. I also would've been fine with embiid or even giannis winning it. The hate he's getting from some people is sad. Also maybe don't announce a regular season award during the playoffs? Never made sense to me.

Yeah, it's always been odd-as for them to announce stuff so late. It encourages people to factor in the playoffs into their thinking about a regular season award, which doesn't help. And yes, the Jokic hate is sad. It wasn't a unanimous MVP, Giannis and Embiid both placed well and were both legit candidates, but there are often several worthy candidates in a given season. It's just frustrating seeing all the legit stupidity going into to canning Jokic just because people didn't see their guy win.
