Jokic would get eaten by the best defensive bigs and wouldn't be able to score a point down low.

Same with Embiid, Mr fadeaway and release below his head.

Jokic's stats are making him look better than he is as well.

You all said the same things about Harden and Westbrook during their MVP candidate runs.

A few more years of no playoff success and Jokic will join those two as stat guys only.

To quote someone on reddit who said it's like a scene out of Borat

This my colleague, Embiid. He is pain in my a**holes

I start in NBA, he must start in NBA.

I make all NBA rookie team, he must make all NBA rookie team.

I get MVP, he cannot get MVP. Great success!

Embiid is close offensively with jokic but he is the much better defensive player..overall Embiid is better. Same logic with Duncan over Dirk.

Duncan isn't really close to Dirk offensively. His value relative to Dirk is pretty much all on the defensive end. There's a reason Manu and Parker were both at one time or another the best offensive players on a San Antonio title team, with Duncan anchoring the D.

The gap on offense is far greater between Jokic > Embiid than the defensive gap is.

Embiid can barely sniff 4 assists per game let alone the 9 Jokic puts up as the greatest passing centre of all time.

Factor in the 66% v 61% TS and 59% v 50% FG and it isn't even close between what the 2 do offensively.

Giannis is making this more of a joke each game. Im not sure what his LEBRON rating was tonight but thats what an MVP looks like. Sometimes an efficient 12-18 just doesnt get it done as a leader

MVP is a joke at this point, narrative award voted on by guys who likely dont watch much, as evidenced by them always butchering names of role players. They are extremely close offensively. Embiid doesnt play PG on his team like Jokic, so naturally his assists are lower. From what Ive seen lots of Jokics assists are just guys running off him for easy looks in the high post. Hes not breaking the D down off the dribble and disecting it or anything. But enjoy that trophy!

What does Giannis getting silly offensive fouls and relying on Jrue to make big threes/multiple stops and Portis cleaning up his free throw bricks have to do with Jokic winning a regular season award?

Why is bringing up Giannis having 1 efficient game out of 5 in a playoff series related to the MVP?

Hes proving he is the best basketball player to anyone with eyes. Put down the stat sheets and calculators and take a look! Theres more to basketball than a statsheet, like closing gaps, switching everywhere, bringing energy and confidence to your less talented teammates, dictating tempo, putting the other team over the foul limit with aggression, etc.

And that efficiency has mattered alot, huh? Maybe its an overrated stat, that this board seems to think is the only way to rank a superstar for some reason. Laughable.

Or maybe Jrue really is DPOY and the voters got it wrong.

That has nothing to do with Giannis clearly being the best basketball player in the world, or pointing out that efficiency hasnt mattered, really at all,but yeah, I agree, voters for these awards often have 0 clue and dont watch the league closely. Theres like 10 guys that couldve won DPOY. It came down to a narrative, Boston had a good defense and people think of D when they think of smart so they voted for him.

I hope he doesn't signs the super max deal in the off season , he should test the next season, see if Murray and Porter are injury free and how the team performs, if they are contenders or not. If those guys are done with the serious basketball, he should leave Denver for the team that is the title contender.
