I'm going to disagree here. It was both. The Sixers could have moved Simmons straight up and built an athletic, younger core with a Sacramento trade. I'd take Haliburton over Harden straight up right now.

I’m just emotional and watching him stand there while Butler gets another offensive rebound.

Honest question for you guys. At this point Harden should be a teams third best player that shouldn't be in debate. But do you guys think Embid can be a teams #1 guy and win a ring that way?

They wouldnt be though if James Harden was even playing like a top 20 player let alone the top 10 we thought we were getting. Lets look at the top 4 players on both teams: Abedeyo, Butler, Hero, and Lowry. The Sixers: Embiid, Harden, Maxey, and Harris. When the Sixers made that trade for Harden 90% of people would have said the Sixers top four in a landslide. I understand thats not how it turned out but thats the frustration. And how are they getting better exactly this inst highschool. They are capped out and Harden is looking like a giant problem and they are overpaying Harris just like they have been doing for years. We also owe Danny Green another 10 million lol. I honestly whish I could be satisfied as easy as you. Winning 50 games and getting knocked out in the second round doesnt cut it for a lot of us anymore. And I dont see how they improve on that the Bucks are in there prime and the Celtics are ascending. Sorry for the reality check!
If anyone thought you were getting a top 10 player in Harden you hadn't watched basketball since COVID started.

Curry was a starter and Drummond is unplayable in the playoffs, ask the Nets

It’s not really the flopping though, It’s simply he’s injury prone. You have to assume every year going forward he’s going to be hurt in one way or another come playoff time,

Embiid is great during the season but big don't win chips unless you're a freak like Giannis.
Relying on him to be the no 1 scorer has been a mistake for the last 3 years.
Harden is finished so it's all in on Maxey.
Harris needs to go for pieces.

I truly no longer understand what is or is not a foul on a jump shooter.

I'm starting to think Jojo spends just much if not more of his time on the ground than Iverson did.
Course Jojo weights twice as much as Iverson.

They could have likely had both Haliburton and Harden. They just would have had to “waste a year” of Joel. As if this isn’t wasting a year.

Seth is a liability on the floor and he’d be hunted by heat players all night.
You wont win with Hali. He can’t attack mismatches on ISO, can’t help your rim protection or rebounding.
I think we’re just doing our scape goat exercise here.
Embiid is just bad. Look at his defensive numbers. He averages less than a block per game. His defensive numbers also has been bad at -6 DBPM. Thats for an allNBA 2 way big.
You need to switch heavy in the playoffs. And this team is just running this scheme now. They look like a lottery team in the playoffs with very slow switching very slow rotating defense and not knowing how to rebound.
Part of this is not getting used to playing together. Part of this is Embiid. Can Embiid play heavy switch defense in reg season to get our guys get used to it? Remember when he was gunning for his 30ppg to end the season?
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
