2004:This one's hard, I'd give Kobe, but it can go either way....

not sure booker gets it with his efficiency & the fact that his best game by far was in G1 (so recency bias could be a factor / voters consciously weighing later games more). he had a couple of stinkers in that series

cp3 was great but missed 2 games.. i think ayton may've won it. was consistent and efficient, did really well against the small ball lineup in the closeout game after having a harder time g5

That's a great point. I was going more based on my memory of how folks were talking about Booker at the time. I remember getting annoyed as I went from Booker proponent to Booker skeptic without changing my actual assessment of him, so I was thinking he'd get it.

But Ayton might have too. It was a huge series for him - transformative in perception of him..
