Top 20 NBA players who make their teammate's shots easier

Post#1 » by LAL1947 » Fri May 13, 2022 4:31 pm

Luka Doncic is leading the pack of players who make their teammate's shots easier.

Of the 4 leading MVP candidates, only Giannis doesn't make this list.

Thoughts? Have they got it right? Does the ranking match the eye test? Is there anyone you're surprised is missing?

Came across this infographic on the web btw. They also have a section on which players hamper opponent's shots the most... and an overall ranking that combines the two things. You can read more at the source.

LaMelo on this list at 20. Sky's the limit if we get the right coach and players

That's a good question. I don't use Twatter, so here's the tweet if you'd like to reply and ask them.

its the horizontal axis here so he was up there in the positive but not that far

maybe its because they still get good shots when CP3 isn't out there because they're a good, well coached team

Doesn't this beg the question of why Dallas's offense isn't that much better when Luka is on the court vs off?

Not surprising. Luka is poised to take the mantle of the best player in the league. This is his destiny. Luka is built different.

You might be more encouraged to know Lamelo is at #8, Lonzo is at #19, Draymond is at #20.

20 years old. Being 20 and able to run an offense/pass like that is special. He's the youngest on this list by at least 2 years over Garland (22), SGA (23)
LaMelo will be a beast when he's their age

Something that surprises me is Embiid being on here while Giannis is not. You'd expect to see Jokic and Draymond on this list... but Embiid is here and ranked quite high too, at #12.

Because on-off is also about the 4 other players and who is on the bench at any particular time.

The offense is great when he's playing with the starters, but bad when they put him out there with guys like Josh Green. Quality of shots doesn't mean that the player makes them.

I remember someone comparing Luka with the starters vs Luka with the 6-10th best player and it was night and day.
