Re: ATL - Jokic MVP
I'm kind of sick of the whole "one man team" stuff with Dallas. We've got an ample sample size at this point of them being a consistent positive net-rating basketball team without Luka on the floor over the past 4-years. Was the same under Carlisle, this year they just faced an easier 1st round opponent than previous years (Clippers). Mavericks front office has done as good a job as any of surrounding their superstar with the right pieces, even if they lack that second All-Star/All-NBA dude. Brunson, DFS, Dinwiddie, Powell, Kleber, and Bullock all seem to perfectly compliment each other's skill sets. Would love any of those dudes on the Bucks.

Said it last night, but at this point I fear them more than the Suns. We have the guys to matchup with the Suns.

Eh, I don't know. Jimmy Butler has been pretty bad/injured at points the past three years. And in 2019 no one was excited about giving the guy $180 or whatever million. I think the bigger story is that Pat Riley figured out how to put together a better team than the people up in Philly.
The other thing, imagine if that Kawhi prayer shot in game 7 in 2019 didn't go down. Might have been a much different last couple years around these parts and elsewhere.
Giving 180 to Jimmy then was barely palatable, but giving a couple hundred to Harden now? Ouch. And what else are they gonna do, they've painted themselves in a corner.
The "when in a hole, keep digging" mentality. James Harden: strip club enthusiast/sunk cost illustration in the flesh.
For all the dork Elvis/king of analytics talk, Morey's real philosophy is starrzzz. The man whose initial famed move was getting Shane Battier on the cheap is defined by his last three big whiffs: bringing on Chris Paul on a team already featuring a high-usage ballhandler, getting rid of Chris Paul to bring in Russy and mortgaging the future on James Harden, whose longterm prospects are approaching the half-life of cottage cheese blistering in the sun.
John Hammonds would never.

We know the man, I don't care what they say. He found a ready made team and a system from Carlisle and a guy who just goes bananas in every single big game in his life since he was 16. Then the KP trade worked, Brunson got better, whatever internal politics got better with Carlisle leaving, and collectively they overcame the village idiot in charge. But it will eventually catch up to them, I'm calling it now.

There is a dark timeline where we initially feel good good beating the Sixers in the ECF, Warriors stay healthy since they aren't playing the raptors, we lose, Sixers roll it back, and watch the Warriors and Sixers battle out the next 5 championships during Giannis's prime

With Rivers returning in Philly, I'd like to trade for a couple of players that aren't his favorites. Matisse Thybulle and Paul Reed. Reed gives us a 3rd mobile big to play behind Giannis and Bobby. Thybulle has never played for a coach with a developmental plan. I'd love to see him coached by Bud and staff. Get him to a tollerable level of offense, to unleash his defense.

It doesn't sound that bad honestly. The replay I saw was brutal.
It's still bad enough for a 35y old.
He was great for the sixers.

Wow, a torn ACL because your clod of a teammate chooses to fall down 20+ times a game. Just brutal for Green.

The above is only if the Bucks Celtics series goes 7.
If we win today, Game 1 will be Sunday, Game 2 will be on Tuesday and rest of the schedule is the same as above.
EDIT: I take It back. I think Tuesday start is official now. SO, above holds.

Sad to hear. Green is the type of player anybody should want on their team. Great career.

Warriors can't get out of their own way again. Think they've had double digit turnovers before the half in every game.

Will be brutal watching the finals if we lose Sunday. This year is so open and a repeat would cement this teams legacy. Who knows what happens next year, an optimistic scenario is we bring back the same team albeit declining.
