I agree with Nesmith needs to show up etc.. But I have always said Nesmith needs a real chance. Not the crap Ime has been giving him.

Just look at PP's numbers as a 3rd string, play sometimes, play NOT sometimes player vs being in the rotation every night at a somewhat steady rotation player. It's like a 20% increase in %.

Look what happened when Grant stopped trading minutes with Semi. (though Grant did come in much better shape this year)

*If Nesmith gets a Steady diet of playing time I expect his numbers to shoot up. If not, no problem, move on.

Getting the body right is a huge step.

Grant went from a serviceable and cheap 5th big to a legit contributor by working on exactly what he needed to and getting his body right.

All signs indicate that Nesmith is heading down that same path.

I think Grant deserved credit for getting his body wrong too, because the team wanted him to be a 5 last year. He is a much better PJ Tucker than he is a Draymond.

Again, COVID shortened offseason. A lot of players weren't themselves that season and good defense was out the window, league-wide. The two seasons he's had to work he's had himself in good basketball shape.

He can still improve both his play and body over the years (young guys do). I can't wait to continue cheering him on!!

Nothing like watching a guy who doesn't have a normal NBA body do well. I look at Bane and he looks like T-Rex on roids, but man is he good! Big Baby was fun! I wish that big dude made it in a few years back and for the Cs. What was his name, Sweetness or something similar?

He needs to shut TF up with the refs. You're Grant Williams. They don't need you in their ear all f-ing game complaining. That's not going to help get calls for yourself or anyone else. It's one thing when Tatum does it because he's a star, but bench players like Grant have no business complaining all game like he does. Cmon man

Interesting comment about Grant from a poster called moderndarwin on the GB:

For what it’s worth i was recently at a conference and Steph Curry’s shooting and skills coach gave a talk there. This guy has managed Steph since 2013 and talked in great detail about Steph versus others. He’s trained hundreds of NBA players over the past decade. Talked about Cam Reddish and how useless he is lol. And most interestingly, talked a lot about Grant Williams and how (after Steph) he’s really internalized the training, what to do, etc etc and thinks he’s going to be an excellent player. This talk was a few weeks ago.

The Celtics — who almost universally seem to treat Williams as an annoying but deeply lovable younger brother — told him to keep shooting.

Arguably the best role player in the league had himself a game and likely made himself some money too

I have had a lot of trouble enjoying Grant's game, I still have in fact. But man did he come through today, an amazing performance.

He needs some post moves. Shimmies, hooks turnarounds whatever. If he gets that too he’ll be the perfect 4.
