Never compare CP3 to Curry ever again on this board please.

Post#1 » by coastalmarker99 » Mon May 16, 2022 1:27 am

One guy has 3 rings and 2 MVP's alongside being the greatest shooter ever.

While the other guy has 0 rings and 0 MVPs alongside being the greatest choker ever.

There is no debate at all.

Hell Curry's run from 2015 to 2019 is better than CP3's entire career.

That's now 5 times that CP3 has blown a 2 0 series lead in the playoffs.

You can't win titles when your leader is a mental midget as CP3 is.

I feel whether it was due to health or just his own blunders, CPO was always going to be just that ringless.

Can you people stop making excuses for CP3 meltdowns every single year in the postseason.

I don't want to hear **** about his age when he played amazing in the regular season and in the first round.

And please don't use advanced stats to defend him this time.

Same story throughout his career. This game in 2022 doesn't change anything for CP3 it's just a reminder of how he goes out. Teams just switch on him and force him to be a scorer and he just can't get over the hump. Sure you can say his teammates failed to pick him up but you can't just take mid range shots against mismatches otherwise teams will just live with you trying to shoot contested midrangers and this doens't get his teammates easy shots.

i defend paul a lot but i wouls criticize him a ton for not trying to score at all this game

suns neesed booker ans him to try and carry the offense today

it is one thingh to struggle cause your shots dont fall or you cannot get by the defense anymore, it is amother to just not try when it clearly is needed

How old was he when Chauncey took him behind the shed as Denver beat them down @ New Orleans by 58?

He was 24 and in his prime when that series occurred I think.

The difference between CP3 and Curry is that Curry took his golden opportunity in 2015 and won, unlike CP3 who blew it last season.

This game 5 performance in the 2015 finals by Curry never gets talked about for some reason despite the fact that he had not gone off.

GSW would have been heading to Cleveland down 3 2.

And who knows what happens from there in games 6 and 7.

Why is this a brand new thread? Why is this OP special? Merge this into the existing thread. But yeah one series at age 37 means we should never compare players.

i would be critical for avoiding shooting in the first half, suns desperately needed any offense and paul midramge spam was as good as any other option

but i agree is nuts to define his legacy for strugfles at 37 years old, everythingh after 35 should be extra credit in a player resume

Cp3 in the post season

10 blown playoff leads

7 losses with HCA

5 blown 2-0 leads

3 missed playoffs

1 blown 3-1 lead

and most notably of all 0 rings

Also for the love of God stop using the age excuse.

Nor to Isiah Thomas for that matter. Isiah Thomas only lost one series in his career with HCA.

There's a whole lot of CP3 narratives that need to be rewritten now. Here's another one: Blake Griffin was not some glorified Stromile Swift who could only dunk, nor did he single-handedly hold CP3 back from greatness. He was a legitimate all-around beast and an MVP candidate in his prime who always stepped up his game in the playoffs (unlike CP3, who always chokes in them). Even now, as a role player with all of his athleticism long gone due to injuries, he was STILL a bright spot for the Nets in the playoffs these last two years. It's time for everyone to put some respect on Blake's name and stop hating on him to prop up CP3.

"Extra credit" implies that CP3 did anything to deserve credit before age 35. He has the thinnest playoff resume I've ever seen for a star player who never, ever gets criticized.
