Just looked it up and they haven’t been in the single digits for the draft since 1989 (#7 George McCloud). That is crazy.

A lot of these guys coming out seem like projects that will take 3-4 years to develop. I can't think of an instant impact guy in this draft. Banchero, I think might be the closet to making a quick impact from day 1 as a rookie.

Blazers may be trying to sell the team, so it would make some sense to entice a buyer.

I would piss myself laughing if the cavs somehow won the #1 pick. I'd either draft Jabari Smith or trade that pick as soon as they announced that we got it

There is no way on gods green earth that Cleveland would trade a top 4 pick to get LeBron back.

Did you know that a team outside of Texas and California hasn't represented the West in the Finals since the 1970's?

Texas is doing just fine mate.

They won back to back 1st picks in my lifetime so I am not feeling bad for them and then years later got another 1st pick. So yeah, it falls of deaf ears.

Just like I don’t think anyone would feel bad if the spurs don’t win in their lifetime.

Magic got a "generally considered but not a consensus" top 4 guy with the fifth pick in last years draft.

That said, thus far, the results haven't been good (they'd likely give up a lot to replace suggs with barnes).

Chuck wasn't too far off. Obviously Portland, Phoenix, Utah all represented the West at various points.

Sacramento. 16 straight years in the lottery, no number one picks. It's about time to throw them one

I like that this was asked before the draft, to test the conspiracy theorists. After the draft, they can always seem to make up a reason that each team won those lottery spots, but nobody seems to be able to make those predictions before the draft!

I like how there's a topic about the draft lottery and its about it being rigged or hypothetically rigged.

What do you mean, don't you know that no matter who wins it, it's for sure rigged? That's how it's worked every single time

The Lakers.

But it’s not rigged so we don’t have to worry about it.

San Antonio deserves to win the lottery.

Lakers will get the 4th pick and pack it with Westbrook

Portland or Indiana. Both are teams, who rarely get high picks and avoid tanking. They would deserve it more than teams who tank like 2 out of 3 years.

The answer to this question everytime the Lakers and/or the Knicks are a lottery team is the Knicks and/or the Lakers, because NY and California.
\end thread

Edit: Perhaps that's the obvious answer and the OP wasn't looking for the obvious answer?

If it's rigged then clearly it's going to Golden State.
