Not going to lie... i kinda feel the same way. Isaac is a risk.... but we now have him on a 3 year deal with protections kicked in. If they do feel confident in his recovery... I believe the knee might be in the best shape as it could be... and the hamstring is an anomaly.... I'd rather just hold onto him and swing for an Ivey/Sharpe with our FRP. And with WCJ setting the cap on Bamba... I wouldn't be surprised if he stay on a reasonable contract with the magic. 4 year/ 35 million deal... not that bad for either party.

If Isaac is healthy, I'd rather have Isaac over Simons by a pretty healthy margin, even factoring in the risk of future injury. If he's not healthy he has zero value.

I've been wrong about Simons before, but I am not sure he is a starter on a true contender. I would love to see him prove me wrong again, but much like the Dame/CJ combo, I have a hard time seeing them build a winner around Dame and Simons. Maybe Simons could excel on a team like the Mavs or Charlotte who essentially have 6'7" wing-point guards that can defend bigger players, but even then I'd rather surround guys like Luka with tall guys who can shoot and guard multiple positions than spend a ton of money on a Simons and maybe even Brunson.

If Cole Anthony can clean up his bad shots, and improve his 3 point shooting I think he is close enough to Simons. And I am not even sure that version of Cole Anthony is a keeper for this Magic team.

Keep Isaac, draft a SG

Or

Offer Simons MAX and do a S&T sending back scraps.

Yeah, no way I'm giving up our FRP for 2022 in this trade. I'd rather just give Simons an offer sheet and dare POR to match if anything, but as has been said previously, Cole Anthony if he can become more efficient is like a poor man's version of what Simons offers already.
