Oh I get it. I just don't like it.

I could see them moving him if they liked a pure SG in the draft. Price would be massive.

I looked on spotrac and it seems to me that with SGA's max deal and paying their #4, #12 and #30 picks they are right at the cap limit. So I don't really see how they have space to sign Ayton.

They have assets to move contracts. Though I could see them S&T for Ayton, but basically send back some draft picks and more or less absorb him in cap space.

They might not do it for Ayton, but OKC didn't collect all these picks and young players to just sit on ALL of them. They'll be looking to make a deal. It's probably more to move up in a draft, but they will still be dealing picks. It would be nice to see the Knicks wind up with one or two, somehow, but really, we know they are all going to Utah, since that's where Ainge is.

Somehow, Utah, Cleveland and OKC will make a three way trade, where Cleveland and Utah get picks, but Utah most of them.

Mitchell probably lands on OKC. :D

Yeah Luka is one of the hardest players to guard in the league. And with the way he was playing in game 7, he was unguardable and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

It’s worth noting that Ayton guarded him very well prior to game 7 though.

Reading the article it seems like he uses video games as therapy. I don’t think it’s a big deal. Especially since he actually improves every single year while Knox on the other hand never did.

GA - there are only a handful of players in the league that stand a chance of stopping that move 1v1. Gobert certainly couldn't. Maybe JJJ? Green? Thybulle? Giannis? Ayton was expecting Bridges or Paul to slide down and try to pick his pocket and it didn't happen. Not blaming Bridges either because if he comes over he likely gives up an open 3 and if you watch Paul in that clip he's on skates too. That was an incredibly difficult move to guard and the play gave Luka outs. At every pivot point he was a threat to shoot or pass.

haha this is not Ayton being bad, this is Luka Doncic playing at highest level.
Luka does same thing to Bam Adebayo:

Jokic-Embiid-KAT-BAM are probably the top 4 centers and Ayton has a good case for 5th best center of the NBA. Maybe Rudy Gobert would challenge Ayton to get in the top 5 too but Rudy cant do anything on offense so. Ayton at this age would deserve a max contract easily. People overrate max deal too much. Its not like you can find Jokic-Embiid to give max. You have cap space, you can spend max money for Bertans+Powell like Dallas, and you can give max to Tobias Harris like 76ers or J.Randle... There are too many max contracts to hand out in the league so you cannot expect to find max player to be a franchise player every time.

Ayton has almost zero defect in his game. Finishing with very high percentage on offense, can make FTs. He's not slow footed for C position. His height-wingspan makes him elite rim protector. He is probably the best Jokic defender in the league which can be super useful if Denver gets healthy next seasons. A young C without any major defect in his game always deserves a max deal. We dont even know if he'd increase his offensive output if he actually fed ball more. That being said Knicks might not need him over Mitchell.

I forgot Anthony 'Day to day' Davis when listing top centers. I am not sure if he's a center though. He seems to like PF more and he is not interested to play the center role on defense.
