Sounds like the Jeanne Buss route where her dad let her run a pro tennis team and a pro roller hockey team that he owned. Wont hate on parents opening doors for their kids long as its clear they didn’t earn their way there.

I would honestly rather have Vivek just hand her 100% control now. Vivek doesnt understand the game at all she likely doesn't have the ego/narcissism that he does.

I don't know her qualifications but I've never heard anyone talk about someone being hired as assistant GM of the gleague to be honest. Can anyone name a GM of a gleague team, much less assistant? Reason to be concerned for nepotism but like...what are the qualifications you need to be assistant gm of a gleague gm? Probably less than what it takes to be a video coordinator in the NBA honestly.

Assistant GM of a G-League team is very much an entry-level job. It's in-demand just because it gets you a foot in the door for future NBA FO jobs if you work your way up, which is why it's generally taken by either overqualified people willing to work for way less then then could elsewhere or else people with clear insider connections.

For this, a good owner would give their kid the job to see how they do with it. If they take it seriously and put in the grunt and grind work to do the job well they can get gradually promoted to meaningful positions. If they only treat it as a side gig that they only pay attention to when it isn't interfering with parties, travel and maintaining their IG account then you know to avoid giving them any job that matters.
